New year new problem! We had a few synchronising issues over the summer so I think some of my GPOs have disappeared from our AD. As a result at the moment when students click on the my documents on their start menu they are linked to their local profile and save them there, not good. Can someone tell me what I need to do to stop this via GPO. Can I hide the my documents on the start menu or redirect it to their network home drive? Thanks

I am changing the way we add our new entries this year. I have decided to use Active User Manager to add them. This is a pretty painless task BUT I need to check some file permissions settings with my fellow edugeekers. I the past we gave full access to all files and controlled access with shares. Now we are switching it around the other way. I'm not sure what I should give students on their own home area now? Modify Read & Execute List Folder contents Read Write I assume no to the modify and yes to everything else? Just checking before I add the whole year and do it wrong! Thanks

I just foolishly upgraded from Joomla 1.6 to 1.7. The upgrdae was a painless task but since then i have an error on my front page saying I have googled around but nothing concrete has been found. The general consensus seems to be that a folder is missing but I don't know what it wants it to be called Can anyone help at all?

I found it but no option to remove it! I can change it though.

Can anyone tell me where this text is coming from in my joomla test site? Home There is a big fonted "Home" near the top and I can't see where it's coming from. Can anyone work it out with just viewing the source? Confused!

If you mean the user type then it is all to do with their description in AD

I have found a work around. I move the user modules above the logo modules in the index.php

Has anyone any experience of adding extra modules in a joomla 1.6 template? At the moment my site looks like this with the module position showing Test site joomla 1.6 I would like to split the logo module in two so i had logo and logo 2. This way I could put some sort of slideshow up at the top in one module and have the site name in the other. Has anyone any idea how this can be achieved? I am furiously googling at the moment to try and find out. i will update if I find a solution.

Funnily enough I have just run that after a google search. It's still running, I ran resize2fs -p /dev/sda1 just so I can see what it's doing. cheers

I moved the swap file to the end with gparted and expanded my /dev/sda1 to fill the gap. Any ideas how I can make it mount/expand the drive/partition?

I just clonezilla'd my fog servers system over on to a larger HD. Linux still sees it as a smaller drive. When I type df -h I get this output... Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on /dev/sda1 226G 143G 72G 67% / varrun 474M 216K 474M 1% /var/run varlock 474M 0 474M 0% /var/lock udev 474M 40K 474M 1% /dev devshm 474M 0 474M 0% /dev/shm This is showing 226G as the HD size when in fact it is now 500G. I have gParted the drive so that the main partition is about 490G? Can anyone suggest what I have missed.

We run fog 0.29 on ubuntu but are trialling 0.31 on centos. Once logged in to the web interface everything seems fin BUT the initial log in time is in excess of 60 seconds. Can anyone suggest what might be causing this initial time issue? Thanks

I can get this to work if I create a html page on my desktop with your code, the two required js files are on my desktop and the html page, that the page you created calls, is on the desktop. However I can't work out how I can then do the same if I then put that somewhere like on my webserver. For example if you go to http://www.prentonhigh.wirral.sch.uk/testscroll.htm i have put the page and js scripts here but no scrolling? Thanks for pointing this out to us but I'm scratching my head as to what I'm doing wrong?

Staff like the more formal live@edu style. Well that's not really what happened. I set up staff on live@edu about two years ago and then decided to try google apps in the lsat 3 months so put the students on it. I'm not sure I could risk moving the staff to google. More fun this way.

I don't have the heart to move it. It was one of the first linux boxes I set up, so has a special place in my heart.

We use Google Apps for our students, live@edu for our staff and have a zimbra server just hanging around that I use to send notifications from other software such as helpdesk or backups.

I wanted to do something similar too. To display a webpage and then have it scroll down slowly. Not found anything yet myself, but thanks for raising the question.
