I see a problem here. The projector we have does not have audio. The classroom has an amp connected to the teacher's pc. This is going to be a wiring nightmare!

Our music department are about to buy two ipads to help them deliver lessons in lessons but they would like to wirelessly broadcast the ipad's display on to their whiteboard. I'm sure some edugeekers have already done this so I am turning to you for advice! Thanks

Group policy should not change something after the user has logged on? It only applies settings at the time of log on. Any changes from that point will take a log off and on again. Have you tried disabling the group policy that is applied to that OU to see if log on times change? Could it be a log on script rather than Group policy?

I'm constantly updating our school website and quite often get items with photographs of students and their full names. I always remove their surname and try not to identify them in pictures. But then quite often we will link to a newspaper item which then has full names and pictures! Am I being over cautious when I should be able to put the full info on our site? Ta

My dad has asked me to find him a wireless inkjet. I hate printers and never seem to buy the right one. Can anyone suggest a printer that doesn't have expensive ink costs? Are the kodaks still recommended? Thanks

Aha, We currently use live@edu for our staff but not students as there doesn't seem to be an easy way to link via AD. Google has a tool to create a script that we run regularly that adds the AD users we select to google apps. Anyway that's just a grumble for another time! We are currently setting up a new domain which we will be adding as much MS tools as we can that are covered by the MS license agreement that we have. Would FIM be a tool we would need? Thanks

Well, I guess logging in to the computer and then not having to log into anything else would be the nicest solution but not sure if that is achievable. I did have a look at ntlm with moodle but it did get a bit scary.

We are currently building a new domain for summer and trying to think of added extras we can add on to the network to make it a more pleasant user experience. One thing that had been asked about in the past was SSO so we did look into it with Tools4ever UK but the cost would be nearly £6000 for licencing and set up. I was hoping for something a little more on the free/cheap side! We'd like our users to not have to log in to their email (live@edu-staff google apps-students) or moodle(On a linux box) every time they log on. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

I just had a quick look at OStickets. It looks very similar to Hesk but not quite as pretty!

You sound like you are well ahead of most of us there already! Wish we could persuade our powers that be that we should go to virtualisation but the costs scare them away.

That's active directory being nice to you and keeping a place for that computer should you ever add it back to the domain. You can delete it from users and computers with no problems.

Or Lanschool is an option we are looking at right now.

Did you use multi partition single disk? I'm about to give it a try!

Thanks for the suggestion. I still can't get it to work though as I cannot edit the local policy on the member server with HAP running on it. There is a little padlock on the "User Rights Assignments" and when I try to edit the "Allow log on locally" the add user or group is greyed out. Does anyone know how to edit this or does this have to be edited with group policy in AD? Thanks

I get an error trying to access remote files as a staff user but not as a domain admin. The error says... I cannot impersonate staffuser due to an issue logging onto the domain prenton.internal using an interactive login. HAP+ Requires Interactive login rights on the server it is running on. Have I missed a permissions setting somewhere? Thanks
