  1. Where do you enter those? thanks
  2. I was quoted £13 per client today for 400 clients. Bit expensive when you compare it to the likes of Lanschool which is less than half the price.
  3. Hi Michael, could you explain how you specify the key and proxy in a master image? I thought those settings were lost on a sysprep?
  4. Below I have added my answer file which I call when sysprepping a windows 7 machine. The sysprep runs and all is almost fine. The SynchronousCommands do not run. I call a batch file that sets the proxy server and then adds the windows key and then activates windows. This does not run automatically on first boot so i end up having to manually run the script. can anyone see any problems as to why this might be happening? 1 1 net user administrator /active:yes true true false GMT Standard Time * en-GB en-GB en-GB en-GB YwBoADQAMgBNAGkAdABlAGwANgByAHIAUABhAHMAcwB3AG8AcgBkAA== false true 5 administrator C:\1st-boot-scripts\run-on-first-boot.bat 1 false Enter windows key and activate 2 rd /s /q c:\1st-boot-scripts false true Home 3 YwBoADQAMgBNAGkAdABlAGwANgByAHIAUABhAHMAcwB3AG8AcgBkAA== false Local User reggie administrators reggie YwBoADQAMgBNAGkAdABlAGwANgByAHIAQQBkAG0AaQBuAGkAcwB0AHIAYQB0AG8AcgBQAGEAcwBzAHcAbwByAGQA false Prenton High School for Girls Prenton Thanks
  5. If you are asking me then FOG. Thought about using WDS but we have so many packages installed on our image and FOG has always worked well for us.
  6. Thaks Chris, i already had the local user being created but not deleted afterwards. However the command to delete the user afterwards was new to me.
  7. I have been trying to set up my sysprep for quite some time for our windows 7 image. I have managed to get the unattend.xml file to log on the machine without asking for a name or user. I then have fog kick in, rename it and join the domain. The problem is that after all this the computer still logs on as the local administrator. What am I doing wrong?
  8. Sorry, I meant for setting it up in the first place. Not for managing once set up. Also our current Server 2008 domain has major issues with synching which have been with it for over a year!
  9. We are hoping to move over from Server 2008 to R2 with the switch over happening during the Summer holidays. We will have to build our domain and windows 7 images as we are currently on XP. To make things easier I was thinking of using a project management tool so the two of us here knew what needed doing and what had been done. Would using some sort of project management software help us with this or do you think something simpler would be better? thanks
  10. I'm making myself look extra dumb here but do you mean if I browse to http://server/api/setup or http://server/hap/api/setup? If it is the first then I get a 404, if it is the latter then I get a 500 error. thanks
  11. Bummer, I already have it set that way nick!
  12. Hi Nick do you mean me or salc?
  13. Hi Nick, Thanks for replying but I think I do have it set correctly. I have attached a screenshot of my settings ... Does that look right? thanks
  14. Yep, I'm still stuck at the same stage. When I try to set the base settings under Active Directory I always get this error... I also always get the three red crosses on the font screen, even though I have currently given full access to everyon on the app_data folder?
  15. I am looking to order some ID cards for some staff and wondered who fellow edugeekers use? I only need about 6 or 7 so I don't want to go down the route of buying a printer! Thanks
  16. Thanks guys. I can't believe how complicated I was trying to make that! All working now.
  17. We currently have a script that enables exam users and another to disable them. Currently we run it on request from the teacher. We are trying to figure out a way that we could pass this to the teacher to do. The teacher doesn't have rights to run the vbs that attaches via LDAP to enable or disable the ou of users. Is there a way we could run a batch file at log in for that user that would call the vbs with the correct privileges or another method maybe?
  18. I do find it odd that Google Apps is so much easier to synch with Ad than Live@edu. We use Live@edu for staff but due to sheer numbers we use google apps for the students.
  19. I have installed HAP in the past but not used it fully. I have just installed it again now on IIS7 on server 2008 following the instructions. When I browse to the set up page I have three red crosses next to... IIS7 Integrated Pipeline: Services Activated: App_Data Write Accss: I'm confused as to what might be causing all three to be red? Thanks
  20. Just to clarify. I mean it creates another autodiscover.xml and another ost file. So I end up with a folder with 2 files created for every time the user logs on.
  21. Hi, I have been playing with outlook on and off for network users, to connect to our live@edu accounts, for about 6 months but always give up, mainly as nobody has asked for it yet! I am currently pretty close, as close as I have ever been. My GPO redirects the users ost file to a folder in their documents and also creates a Autodiscover.xml. The problem is that every time the user logs on and starts up outlook 2010 they enter their password thane have to wait a good three minutes. In this time a new ost file and Autodiscover.xml file are created? Can anyone suggest what may be going wrong? thanks
  22. I'm not having a good day with this. Install all finished but now I get a http 500 internal server error!
  23. That did it thanks. I'm not backing out of the thanks but I was reading about the icacls command when you saved me getting the syntax right!
  24. Can anyone help an idiot? On step 21 of the installation guide for HAP+ on IIS7 I can't find the IIS AppPool\HAP user. I have searched in the local machine but I just get an error "The following object is not from a domain listed in the Select Location dialog box, and is therefore not valid:" Have I missed something in IIS? Thanks
