[sims] Anyone got their hands on a live SIMS Primary environment yet?
MrMat replied to peej2k's topic in MIS Systems
Nope. I think most are avoiding it like the plague as it's far, far away from being a finished product. -
This was all I was allowed... Yeah hopefully the weather is kind! I've booked a few days off work so I can go out and play. I'm a complete Noob though so i think the beginner mode might stay on for a short while, until i get brave anyway. Adding it to my Camera equipment too just in case.
-
So my Girlfriend has rallied the troops and they (and some cash from myself) have all clubbed together to get my a Mavic Air for my birthday!! Because I'm a child I convinced them to let me have a look inside the box but not allowed to play with it until next week
-
Broken linky. Says it's been removed. I've been trying some more. I was out taking photos of a car club so decided to shoot some video while i was there as well. The thing i'm struggling with at the minute is frame rates and shutter speed etc. It's a whole different bag of numbers to get my head around!
-
To be fair, violence has always been a big part of the God of War series (and sex mini-games!) so if gore isn't your thing then yeah it is probably best avoided.
-
Anyone looking to pick up God of War? I loved the old ones and this new one is getting pretty unanimous praise across the board (94 on Metacritic).

A Way Out Really fun little coach coop game. It's mandatory two player but you only need to buy one copy of the game (even for online) and it's split screen regardless if you play coach coop or online (so you see both perspectives). I played it through with my brother and really enjoyed it. It forces you to talk to each other and work together to complete everything from fishing, repairing a car to escaping from the police. Plus it's only £20!

Try permissions. Make sure you have read/write on the connect.ini. User needs to have write/modify permissions on the connect.ini for the multiple databases to work (as it actually re-writes the top part of the connect file when you use the drop down).

Saw it last night and really enjoyed it but it's not perfect. Even the Mrs enjoyed it though and I wasn't too sure if she'd be a fan (thought it'd be bit too geeky etc). I've read the book (which i thoroughly enjoyed as well). It deviates from the book a fair bit but all the important elements remain. The visuals are stunning and the world inside the Oasis (the VR world) is awesomely realised although the characters are a little jarring at first (big eyes!). There's lots of pop culture references as you'd expect. Some of them are tiny but really cool to see. Quite fun looking out for all these movie/video game characters in the backgrounds etc. Oh and a brilliant homage to 'The Shining'. The story and pacing aren't without fault but overall, I think it's definitely worth a watch!

So the Zhiyun is really good! Had a proper play over the weekend and i'm impressed. It has it's oddities, sometimes it'll get confused and spin around etc but overall it's great. Made one vid for instagram (so quality bit ropey) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4FgvLpM2ysk and then another in 4k with the dog (still getting used to editing so again, bit ropey in places.) Note: Is it okay to talk video in this thread or should we do a videographers thread?

'Line of sight' is much much standard everywhere. You must maintain line of sight with the drone at all times which many people ignore. Here in the UK it's: The aircraft must be kept within the visual line of sight (normally taken to be within 500 m horizontally and 400 ft vertically) of its remote pilot (i.e. the ‘person in charge’ of it). The aircraft must not be flown: over or within 150 metres of any congested area over or within 150 metres of an organised open-air assembly of more than 1,000 persons; within 50 metres of any vessel, vehicle or structure which is not under the control of the person in charge of the aircraft within 50 metres of any person except during take-off or landing, the aircraft must not be flown within 30 metres of any person except for the person in charge of the aircraft.

Ohh that's a good price! How you getting on with it? I'm dead exciting to get one but also terrified i'm going to bin it into a wall or something! Yeah i had a read about the license/permissions for Drones and was really surprised at how involved it is. I assumed it'd be a half arsed online e-learning jobby or something. I'll post up the review when i've had a proper chance to play with it . I did do a quick unboxing (warning it's not a great vid. 20 minute jobby on my lunch break):
-
mmmmmmm drone That's the next thing on my list. Looking at the Mavic Air (although apparently the Pro 2 is just around the corner!). I did look at the Osmo but the Zhiyun Smooth Q was a fair bit cheaper and had pretty decent reviews so went with that. Cost me £98. Only had a quick play but seems decent actually. My plan is to do a little youtube review at some point.
-
Hey folks. Anyone else here do any video work or just still photography? I recently upgraded my phone to a Pixel 2 XL and the stills and video quality is surprisingly ace so i decided to grab myself a 3 Axis stabilizing gimbal as well. Plan is to try and develop some video skills, mainly for my youtubes.

Yeah I just find it absolutely mad that they just blindly ask for all the permissions regardless of what the app is going to be used for. In their current guidance docs they ask for: a. Assessment Co-Ordinator b. Personnel Officer c. School Administrator d. Senior Management Team e. Third Party Reporting Which gives them access to practically everything. I just don't understand how they can justify it.
-
We've had a couple of schools start using it (for OTrack) but we refused to grant all the permissions they were requesting. I spoke to OTrack directly and found out exactly what information their software needed and thats all the permissions i gave to the Wonde user. Seems to be working fine and Wonde don't have access to any info they don't require (hooray!).

For anyone with a PS4 and PSPlus, Bloodborne is one of the free games this month (and the other is Ratchet and Clank). I've never played it before (or any of the Dark Souls games for that matter) but it's meant to be very good. I picked it up last night and am looking forward to getting my teeth into it

I don't believe there is a way to see who entered the original mark. If there is an existing mark that is then changed (an 'O' to a '/' etc) you can see those via the History of Changes report: Reports > Lesson Monitor/Attendance > Module Reports > History of Changes report
-
Not a direct answer to your question, but do you use SIMS? If so, you can get the SIMS Parent App Lite which has a data collection sheet function. It's actually quite a neat solution.
-
I hope this is okay to share! (mods: understand if it's not). I've started a fitness clothing brand: www.never-compromise.com Work in progress as need to re-do some photos for the site etc but going surprisingly well so far It's all either screen printed or vinyl heat-pressed by hand by me. I've spent most my time trying different manufacturers stuff trying to find the right gear etc (including the ladies leggings lol!) There's a 10% discount code if you sign up to the newsletter or you can use the code EDUGEEK for free shipping (whichever works out cheapest )

Hiya folks, I've got some unopened, unused, brand new Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3000MHZ 16GB (2 x 8gb) RAM for sale. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-CMK16GX4M2B3000C15-Vengeance-3000MHz-Performance/dp/B0134EW7G8 Long story short; this is the ram i decided on for my new build PC. After a few weeks, one of the sticks failed. Hopped onto the Corsair website and made a claim under the warranty but they needed both sticks returning. Couldn't really manage without the PC for the week (work from home plus sole trader business) so grabbed myself more of the same from Amazon and then sent the knackered lot off to Corsair. This pack for sale is the brand new packet received from Corsair yesterday. £170 ish

[for sale] BenQ GW2765HT 27" IPS WQHD LED Monitor
MrMat replied to MrMat's topic in Classified Adverts
Hi mate. Sorry for the delay. It's all sorted now but thank you for the offer! -
Nope, it should just work off the bat i believe. You can add additional columns that show the number of Beh/Ach logged throughout the day etc but it's not necessary to be able to log them.
