Tears will be here soon! Virtual Pet Trying to play the video here for students. (Under task 1 on the right). When I open it in Chrome, it opens windows media player and is fine. In internet explorer it gets all confused with Shockwave. Can anyone else open this and get it to play in the browser? (IE9 preferably as that is what our students PC's have installed.) Thanks!

I played when I was in school - for about 4/5 years - drum kit and in the school orchestra I did other percussion such as timpani, xylophone etc. I loved it - keep thinking about starting again - would have to buy an electronic kit though - my neighbours would hate me if I got a proper kit!

Yeah our cleaners, site team and midday supervisors have these polo shirts with logo's on in different colours depending on which department. Seem to be catching on very well - only a matter of time before they make their way up here. To be honest I don't think I'd mind too much, although it's nice to 'dress up' (or at least have the option) a bit some days, depending on what you have planned.

Haha - I just wear smart casual - trousers, shoes and a top/jumper. Sometimes a dress although not always the best idea in this job!

Odd question, but curious. Do people wear business dress such as suits, or tend to lean more towards lab coats etc. Do your schools have a staff dress code?

North east Derbyshire here - but we are really high up land wise so we often get snow when the surrounding areas don't.

I remember playing it when I was a lot younger so thought I've give it a try. Seems alright - imagine it will be a lot more fun when I know what I am doing though!

So I bought Sid Meier's Civilization 5 the other day in Game for £12.99 Just installed it - literally just installed it - and my e-mail pings. It's Humble Bundle. With a Civilization V bundle.

I imagine it'll stop soon. Hopefully not before the rumour of a snow day tomorrow is leaked to the kids though... muahaha!

Thank you everyone - managed to locate on at Wallis - so particular thanks to @AngryTechnician A bit cheaper than at NEC - plus NEC said they only take credit card payments which we are unable to do. The Wallis website is out of date (I called and was told this) and, although not listed on their website, the remote I need was in stock. So fab!

I'm sure the rest of my department will thank you all for the Spicegirls puns - here begins a day of me singing the Spicegirls!

So like most people I imagine, our teachers keep losing the remotes for their projectors. Hitachi do a good 'teacher remote' just a little one with on/off and other basic things on it - but I can only find replacements at Hills for about £20 something. I need some remotes for NEC projectors as well though - does anyone know if any remote will do as long as it's the correct brand? Any idea where I can get one? This particular projector is a NP216G. Thanks.

How about a photoshoot? Surprise her, tell her to dress up fancy and go and have some nice photos taken which you can have printed and displayed in your house.

Staff emails usually or if it's an immediate problem then we use pop up messages on screens. Also we have briefing a few times a week but don't usually have to resort to mentioning anything there - our staff are quite good with their emails. I remember about 5 years ago when any message had to be printed off 120 times and put in all pigeon holes - it took some work to get the staff using emails as standard but totally worth it - are your staff just stubborn or are there reasons they don't use email as standard?

It's a Samsung 4825 print/copy/scan model. When it is turned on, it initializes, then restarts it self in a loop. Anyone know if there is a fix or has it had it? Not quite sure what to try with it.

Haha we should've done the same - but the exam board recommended it. Surprised more people don't use it given that.
