Oh dear - local carnival this weekend, lots of sunshine and lots of alcohol doesn't bode well.

That is a wonderful thing to do - good for you. I would love to get involved in something like that. As for ideas, I think the photography will fit in well with all of those topics, as you can take photo's of them - how about short films of them baking and dancing etc. and creating a movie in movie maker or something? If power would allow of course?

This sounds incredible - how did you get involved with it?

There was a huge moth fluttering about my room the other night when I was trying to get to sleep - I don't know why I don't like them, I like butterflies and actually when this moth sat on the curtains I snapped a picture of him and he was very pretty. Still didn't want him in there though!!

I am just looking on eBay now and there are MSI netbooks going for quite a bit less than that, use ones, which is fine anyway so will leave it but thank you for the offer!

Are you actually in SA?

Can I load pictures onto a tablet? I worry that I will connect to PC at home and they'll disappear or something? haha! I have to go right now but will check back in about 90 minutes - thanks.

Just googled - looks perfect although don't really need batteries. Really wish I hadn't wasted £50 on a faulty one (changed my mind before I bought but had already put max. bid - no one out bid me - first time ever!! I always get outbid!!) Would you want to sell with batteries as a package? Thanks for the freecycle link - saw that years ago when it was part of Yahoo but not seen the new one!

Hey! Just discovered this section -very exciting! I am going travelling in the summer and need a small netbook or light laptop for storing downloading photos from my camera. I will be working with children who like to play with the cameras and the past few years have either formatted my memory card or deleted everything, by accident. Otherwise I'd just take spare SD cards. Cheap as possible if anyone has anything knocking about I'd really appreciate it - I do have a ZooStorm 270 netbook I bought in the hopes of getting it working, and I think the motherboard may have gone? Not really sure though, so if anyone has one of those gathering dust I would happily take it off your hands! Novalee

So I have just installed a new version of Truancy call on a Windows 7 PC. Have not completed the 'final' stage of set up, after installation as cannot get that far. When I open Truancy Call it tries to download an update then an error pops up 'Truancy Call did not successfully download required update - please try running Truancy Call again.' If I OK that, it tries a different update and then another update says 'Unable to connect to Truancy Call - please ensure your internet connection is working.......' There is an internet connection which works. A bit stumped now!! Anyone seen this before?

So as we are upgrading to Windows 7, Spiceworks is scanning the new build workstations and grouping them by their active directory groups and as workstations. I guess this could be very useful, but for now, I would rather see them listed under workstations only - is there a way to turn off this feature? I don't want to manually exclude each machine from the group incase I want to use it some day. Thanks.

Good luck! Very excited for you!

Ridiculously low pricing on Surface RT for UK Edu this summer
Novalee replied to AngryTechnician's topic in Hardware
Is it correct that RT can't be connected to a network? That's the main thing preventing us getting them - how will you manage them? -
Sharing school photos - how do you do it?
Novalee replied to Novalee's topic in AV and Multimedia Related
Thanks everyone. I agree TronXP but our VLE is very underused unfortunately. I think we will just put them on the website, then the kids can do what they want with them. Need to think ahead next year though to an easier solution as they have left school now so not easy to let them know where to access them. -
Sharing school photos - how do you do it?
Novalee replied to Novalee's topic in AV and Multimedia Related
Yes we had one of those as well - seems the best way. But one of the teachers took a lot as well and wants to share them. -
So we need to distribute our prom photos to the leavers. We don't really want to 'bandy' them about the internet. How do you all share yours? We have them on the network, but of course, a lot of students have left so not the best location. (Hope this is in the right section - please move it mods if I got it wrong!) Novalee

So just installed SIMS on a Windows 7 machine where the person has access to Nova-P. When they open Nova-P it has error message, 'Access violation at address , in movule 'Novap5.exe'. Read of address FFFFFFFFF.' (Ok, haven't counted those F's but there are a few of them!) Anyone seen this before?

I love that game - I wish someone would tidy it up a bit and re-release it for newer machines. You know, not to change it in anyway, but make it playable. I saw a similar game once, can't remember it's name, but it was awful. Might dig out my game later!!

I agree with Halb - also this way all departments are responsible for paying their own copies as you can bill back to them - all comes from the same pot at the end of the day but if they are using their own departmental budget they will soon start to cut down a bit.

CCTV is helpful - once a few kids are traced for having damaged equipment it seems to deter others in the future. We cable tie all cables to the machines as well to stop things getting stolen. But staff being in the rooms and being attentive is really important I reckon.

[website] You can get anything on eBay these days...

Daybreak posted on their Facebook about Guinea Pig armour today - I was hoping for a picture! -
Ok I will try that - thanks Mcom - I am still training and don't want to be the one asking questions every 5 minutes :-)

Yes it's on a desktop, sorry should have specified. Having trouble locating the jumpers - I read if the PSWD pin doesn't have the 3 pins, then might need to short some soldering when booting up, but no idea which - will it be labelled in any way?
