You can... However it all depends on the contact card format used, which is very unstandard across devices. If you want to create a generic contact add and details you generally run out of space. Best I have got is an email and phone number and name... For a cool networking slant it isn't quite enough (I was going to put some tags onto business cards!)

I have the Mifare classics which mostly generic, but there is a Mifare variety that stores over 1KB (listen to the excitement), but are very incompatible. I have been playing about with this for a few weeks now, so very cool. The only bugger is NFC tags store such small amounts of information it is practically worthless other than task initiation.

It would be nice to confirm too to the market one point that is going round: is Progresso one central database for all schools (as in all your customers whether connected or not), or is it an installation per organisation (individual school or trust of schools)?

I know it doesn't help you for now, but the issue you are raising with census and your schools, because of your setup, will subside in a couple of years as per the mentioned DfE transformation projects. I am not aware (any more) of products currently on the market that can solve this suitably for you

I agree Phil, completely. However your wording, like this statement too, suggests that providers on the framework did not at the time of evaluation have a product. I realise that is just semantics however it should be made clear to all that everyone on the framework had and has a product. I, you and others would not want is suggested otherwise. But yes, look at the whole market. If you are not buying off the framework (most individual schools and small academy chains dont), use it as a guide only for providers to look at :-)

Not normally grumpy, I love the run up to Christmas, lights, good telly, family time and this year my daughter is of age to get excited! Usually feel it is over by about 2pm Xmas day though! However there is lots going on in the professional world that is weighing heavily on my mind so not is the right mood this year I think...
