  1. Indeed we have Marcus (or Robbie!), great to see you sponsoring the forum! Aspen MIS can export the required data to both systems, in fact I myself build the export routine for RoomBookingSystem (rather proud of myself for that too!). On a personal note, I used RoomBookingSystem myself many moons ago (I think we were one of their first wave of customers) and it is an excellent, simple system that sticks to what it needs to do: book rooms. Highly recommended.
  2. Sure comrade sorry that previous message didn't come out how I meant it. It's good to have more players in this market
  3. 1) responding to the mid thread point questions both our companies. 2) because we can
  4. DfE will have that from this census.
  5. FOC? Sorry not in with acronyms lol rofl
  6. Yes I will see about putting something together a few interesting snaps. I would very much NOT say Aspen MIS is just for secondary. It contains the features for secondary as well as primary, and is equally balanced for both. Perhaps in visuals it is more secondary in terms of an administrative feel in some areas (some areas), but then unfortunately that is necessary. You can't have pretty icons for everything! Well, you can... We released in August our dedicated mobile interface which offers a very clean, crisp, simple look and feel which we are also able to roll out to users as their main interface for the day to day work, particularly for parents and teachers (and students if you really want!). And yes, we include a VLE Intranet aspect called Pages which you can easily make and look however you want, simple controls mostly drag and drop that any staff member can learn in minutes. Through this comes some very nifty document management features too that our schools have really taken forwards. Currently we do not offer a free trial of the software, if you are looking for a demo that is one thing, but being able to have your data in there and you start to use it is very much different. We can set up a live demo for you in person of via Webex. Our sales team can talk more though this if you want more.
  7. Love brilliant! Very apt!
  8. Time to make good use of our sponsorship money (eh @Dos_Box). Let me fill you in on the history here: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/mis-systems/96205-little-about-follett.html Let me also point you to this thread where there have been many questions already asked about what Aspen MIS can do. http://www.edugeek.net/forums/aspen-mis-direct-support/102468-quick-fire-aspen-mis-questions.html As an E1 customer, see here and you will see an exclusive offer to move to Aspen, should you so wish http://www.edugeek.net/forums/mis-systems/123945-pearson-e1-customers-exclusive-offer-migrate-aspen-mis.html Can I suggest you have a quick look at these and see if this answers your queries about what Aspen MIS is and can do, and I am more than happy to follow up with more information, publically or privately, and indeed we can have one of our sales team contact you for a demo or answer anything else you might want to know. Sorry for the links, but writing the profile of Aspen MIS out takes a little while (and I was rather proud of the first!) FYI our schools have been using Aspen for a whole school year now, launched officially just over 18 months ago in the UK (10 years ago worldwide).
  9. I need my ROFL again I think...
  10. Awesome I need a laugh today...
  11. Just to return to the original point for Jane, as an E1 customer I would look at these threads too: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/mis-systems/123945-pearson-e1-customers-exclusive-offer-migrate-aspen-mis.html http://www.edugeek.net/forums/mis-systems/123617-pearson-e1-pulling-out-mis-market.html
  12. Where is my ROFL emoticon...
  13. I don't believe we were operating fully at that time Phil... they missed out
  14. Thanks for your enquiry about Aspen MIS Jane, our team will be in contact to talk you through that. I always strongly encourage everyone to look at all the interesting players in the market to ensure that the one you take is the best for you. The best being Aspen MIS of course (great sales talk me!!!). Consider what are the most important things for your school and and for the plans for the future; if you have to make a move might as well make the most of it! Being E1, you are probably going to want to stick to a web solution (sorry Capita!). Graham
  15. Really interesting results so far people, any more votes?
  16. I'm always moaning @matt40k it is the only way things get done around here
  17. So when I refer to cloud I mean a system that does not pull down data other than that that is currently being viewed. When I refer to security I mean one that is in line with banking security in terms of access and should it require downloading data then a method of remotely removing the data or removing automatically upon exiting the application. At no point do I ever make light of security particularly on mobile devices it is always a delicate balance between accessibility and security, with the slide always falling on the latter where needed. 'Just' putting it in the cloud makes it no more secure. You seem to have taken specific exception to this however?
  18. 46,902 alcoholic beverage bottles and miniatures - mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
  19. No, but surely with BYOD being a mainstay of education today a system should be able to accommodate this? Whether it be cloud or other security method.
  20. Lacking modern features? Doesn't take a master to work out what system you have
  21. I did think that after I posted Ben, but to be fair right now we would know who that is!
  22. You were too quick I was still creating the actual poll!!! But cheers anyway!
  23. I had a rather interesting chat with a school yesterday, prompting me to ask this question: In your current MIS, what is the biggest reason you might consider changing?
