  1. Not sure there is need for the slow music! LOL Rather amazing in a horrific way, seemed to have no power at all the way it was coming down
  2. Also, was it like you had a choice about the ward? Could you have stayed in a deluxe one for a bit more? Maybe with a sea view?
  3. Personal phone is Galaxy S4, work phone is Galaxy S5. Next upgrade later in the year I want Galaxy Note 4.
  4. Surface 3 is good. Also decent now I have had it for a year is the Dell XPS 13 (screen flips in the bezel). The only negatives is it has no docking station connection, you have to do it through USB 3, and it is a little weighty. Other than that is great choice.
  5. Really???? I would be wary of lumping all Primary schools into that group of limited requirements. I know Primary schools who use everything bar Exams modules (obviously), even using limited functions of the timetable engine.
  6. Oh yes... hello Ian
  7. Didn't spot that... what a rediculous amount of money for data migration :-/

  9. There are 14 offerings out there currently all with pros and cons. There is a sticky post in this forum talking about the MIS Challenge I put together which will have plenty of details of a huge research project on all MIS products in the UK. Worth a look. Specifically, have a look at Scholarpack, they are a primary only product, growing at speed and really liked by all their users. @scholarpack is on here too. Certainly worth checking out all of what is on offer before making a decision and happy to talk more directly if the Challenge doesn't give you enough to go on. Graham
  10. Pa too true...
  11. Not quite the same as the mile high club...
  12. Oh god yes! Haha
  13. Come to the office if you like! Just bring doughnuts
  14. And what am I doing with my day? Up early to travel to the London office... how very wild of me! :-/
  15. Just to warn off the mods/reporters, as the open question has been asked here... If you have Groupcall Emerge in your school (if you don't, fine, don't go out and buy it just for this!), the latest release contains a Help Me/Panic Button feature that will send SMS to a predefined list, and the device does NOT have to have a SIM card. Happy to say more but won't push my luck.
  16. Well I thank you properly then now I found the button!
  17. Just like to respond to @Seb1780 here, if you issue with Emerge around uploading registers on the school field is due to a lack of connection (as in WiFi connection), then we can easily accommodate this for you to post via 3G/4G. It is a feature of Emerge and has been for a while. Would also like to thank @Seb1780 and @tben2505 for the feedback on the Emerge product.
  18. Such as @teejay ? I'm aware of a couple of features not available, that are in other comparable solutions. I've also got questions over data security procedures as well as how it handles data offline/data caching. But then, I know a great deal about a competing solution Funny... Capita staff were cagey about sharing such things with me! - - - Updated - - - We'll see - - - Updated - - - Very worrying with a brand new product as well as some interesting open questions about how it all works.

    MIS Providers

There are some really great offerings out there right now, I was fortunate to have a look at all of them in some detail at BETT as part of my continuing research (Not allowed to direct there myself, but check out the web address in my sig ) I think, and have always said, the MIS is and should be the central hub and act as the glue for the data systems you use, as well as take care of the run of the meal tasks (taking attendance, creating the timetable). But don't limit the scope to just MIS product, but look separately at the specialist products that deal with the clever or technical things, like Assessment analysis, payment systems. There are companies out there specialising in those things, and will do them much better than an MIS will, usually. But to the subject of MIS products, check out the competition and take a serious look as some of the newer offers such as Arbor, VS Ware, ScholarPack (if a primary school). Progresso has a brand new analytics engine too (I'm due to review and write about next month). Bottom line, unless you go with the pack and stick with older, yet dependable tech (Capita), then there is huge choice. Of course, that comes with risk, as does any MIS move.
  20. Great shout Tim
  21. In case there was any doubt, Chris and the whole team look after you well, did for me last year! I would, but am tethered to the GC stand Wednesday-Friday this year.
  22. ooooooooooo shiney!!! Must Get One
  23. Greed - Wed to Fri
  24. I submit every time, love to fight and usually win easily regardless of the craft or size... unless there are 3+ of them
  25. See I also need more cargo holds, I think I have 8 or maybe 12 in my Viper currently.
