Map crashes for me... But funnily enough the ads for Microsoft events and other premium partners... They came though just fine! And that matching service thing... No, just no... Was the final straw I just deleted it.

Dear god... It is awful. This is coming from me who designed and delivered apps commercially, it really is terrible. The sign up is tedious (let alone UI design). Aside from everything crashing all over the place, most people are going to want the map most of the time, where the hell is it? No I am forced to do meetings with random people, or whatever top dollar paid partner 'trail thing' which I think is a bit bad as it makes it even harder for the startups and small stands. Please for the love of all that is holy (plenty of religion in here today) can someone decent be given the contract next year...

It's what I always aim(ed) to deliver! And it worked for a bit (I know I'm shocked too!). I am sure they will get things sorted.

I no longer work for Groupcall (as of 10 days ago) but before i left the non-London number on the website is the only channel for Messenger support queries. I am also aware that online chat has been discontinued.

Yes, and I would agree with Tony too it is about guiding you to implement change in operations and mindeset when it comes to data (unless you are already tip top), so you remain compliant and operate in the best faith of the spirit of GDPR, not just the technicalities. Well I would and do anyway...

I just would have thought by now their app or other such technical black magic would allow you to see a list of suppliers, where they are on a map and allow you to schedule your routes, meetings, times, etc - maybe it is just too advanced for computers of today...

Our resident GDPRiS man @GrumbleDook will be able to explain a lot better than I... ...but basically they do a few things: They give you a workflow to follow if/when you have a data breech to help you record down everything you need to, to monitor it and some I think give you hints and tips on dealing with They give you data maps (some do anyway) from some or most of the top EdTech suppliers - these show what data they collect, from where, for what purpose, how, etc. Most suppliers have supplied these to the vendors about their products. Higher than that they allow you to record what systems you are using, what processes you have in place for monitoring and recording, places to store your SLAs and DSAs. Basically, think of it as you MIS for your GDPR records.

Remote working/Telepresence has grown somewhat in the last couple of years, impressed with how that is making students more inclusive (I am looking at this this week at BETT for some children in the school where I am governor). My usual day job keeps me with staff and admin technologies within education, so what I am seeing is more of a move online/cloud for traditionally hardware-reliant technologies - whether that be local clients or with hardware interfaces. Also really interesting to see the rise in children's pre-payment cards/pre-loaded cards to help teach them about responsible spending and giving them more independence. Analytics is on the rise again after a faltering start the past couple of years, with more multi-source analytics and data sharing between technologies making interesting inroads.

Have to admit though the actual freebies on offer is just not as good as it used to be. That does help! My daughter would like some lego if you are taking orders...

Aside from the Edugeek stand freebies are dire now - unless you need a new stock of pens that is about it.

Useful to know! Though i could foresee a time when we do have such tech, and then we have the scaremongering like we had about 10 years ago when everyone thought that wireless APs were melting our brains, so my school didn't then stick them up around the school...

Heard nothing but excellent things about GDPRiS and they have so many data maps from suppliers all ready and available for you. Plus any company where @GrumbleDook works cannot be bad! Not heard of the other guys

I am all for this personally - but then I gave up on Apple years ago and never looked back. Portless is also an interesting idea, though note the above post about charging while using.... on that note whatever happened to the idea of being able to charge when within a couple meters rather than a couple of mm - was supposed to be the next big thing - or was it decided we didn't all want to live in a microwave?
