Tried Gladinet today (on an admin staff room computer) and it worked fine to save a file to a Box account via a drive letter. And just found this post Gladinet- Access Without Boundaries so I'll be giving that a go to see if it works. Si

@mac_shinobi No - not quite I don't want to have to carry around a 50 GB pendrive copy of my cloud files - I want to run a portable app and then have my cloud files automagically appear as a normal windows folder/drive letter @SneakyBeaky seems to requires a full install Si

I love dropbox but sometimes I'm on a computer without it(friends/parents/other schools than mine/admin computers at my schools) where it would be handy to be able to save a file to my dropbox account (to work on later) or to able to access my public/downloads folder where I've already stored something useful that I now need and I don't want to have to re-search the internet to find it again) Now I can logon via web and do an upload/download but that is a lot of faff sometimes. What I'd like is to be able to run a simple app (via web or pendrive) that temporarily gives me virtual access to my cloud file system e.g to save a file - I just run an app (from web or pendrive) enter my password and I now have a drive letter (or something with same functionality) so I can just save the file and it gets uploaded to the cloud (and synced with my other computers) To download - just run the app, enter password and be able to browse my cloud storage (as if it were local) and then open/run a file from it. Dropbox doesn't do this at the moment (AFAICT) but do any of the other cloud/sync services do this? regards Simon

One modification (after doing another machine) Try installing integration features via tools menu - IF it doesn't seem to work - then try going by a virtual CD drive that should be in My Computer. regards Simon

I have all the moodle pupil usernames/passwords in an Excel file and I'd like to simply be able to setup some sort of mail merge thingy to print them off to hand out to parents. I can do a mail merge in Word and use the spreadsheet as a source but I can only get 1 slip/page when I really want about 6. Anyone know what I need to do please? (or got a Excel macro to do it direct?) Simon

I watch/listen using my 'droid phone as a media player in bed but often end up pulling the phone over using a wired earphone (I just plug one earpiece into one ear). I'm looking for a mono earpiece that handles video audio (not just phone call audio) - my old BT earpieces (>5 years old) don't do this - does anyone know if all modern cheap ones do (or recommend one they know that works)? I was given a site supervisors daughters computer to look at and it was completely infested with virii! and a ll I coudl do with it was to plug it into my computer and copy all the My Docs files to a folder on my system. I want to give them a copy of this data on DVD but can't find a solution to this simple request (I tried DVD Span but the DVDs produced are unreadable ) I feel this isn't rocket science and there must be something simple to do this with Any suggestions? As we all know, its our ability to remember what to do when X happens that keeps us in jobs. Last week, a Mitsubushi projector stopped working (no light coming out) in a school that I took over 9 months ago. I decided it needed new bulb and said to order a new one but then remembered the next day that this happened in the first week and MR Mitsubushi said to take bulb out and blast the insides with compressed air - which I did today and all well again. But it just shows I'm on the slope now! Si

JFI - the power settings are locked on some Samsung Win7 Starter netbooks I've got and I thought this was one of Win7 Starter's restrictions but it turns out to be a Samsung "feature". To get control, find the Samsung Fast Boot program in the programs menu and just disable it Simon

Not looked at these in years but teacher wanted to use the thermometer one on her Smartboard but the .exe file doesn't work on her new computer (Win7 Pro 64bit). If I load the swf version into Smart Notebook - it only half works - e.g the "fluid" should move up and down as you adjust the slider on the left but it doesn't. The exe version does work fine on an XP machine but the swf only half works as well (When I run it inside of IE8 or Smartboard 9.7) Anyone come across this and got a cure? Simon

Needed to replace a Epson projector so ordered a new one (another Epson) last week and came in with my DIY custom mount kit (Piece of mdf,scorpion saw and my drills) to find that Mr Epson uses the same screw mounting locations on the new model as he did 5 years ago Its not often manufacturers help us poor maintenace bods!
