  1. Somehow, I managed to get 2 pairs of the 'Rulers of IT' socks - one of which I was wearing yesterday, and both of which are still in good condition. Today I have my VeryEdugeek socks on.
  2. Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi (Original Theatrical Release) I've just come to the end of my annual Stars Wars cycle. It's become a ritual to watch Star Wars (A New Hope) on bonfire night after watching all the prequels first (including the animated Episode 2.5 Clone Wars) and the sequels afterwards. Having watched ROTJ on Blu-Ray last year, I decided I couldn't cope with Vader's 'Noo. Nooooooooooooo' at the end this year and decided to watch the version without all the digital jiggery-pokery! Aaaahhhh, bliss. Next stop - The three episodes of Robot Chicken Star Wars - Pure Genius!
  3. Which also means no BitLocker encryption!
  4. That's what I have to keep doing with Virgin Media. Just give me the best price, people!
  5. Really?! That's brilliant! My Virgin Media price has just gone from £20.50 to £28.25pcm. That's just for 30Mbps fibre broadband; I don't have a phone line or TV. I was going to call VM to 'renegotiate', but £12 - that sounds like a winner! Edit: I don't know how you managed to get it for that price, @sippo. I've just had a look on their website and, for me, it works out at £16.99pcm for line rental, with 4mb broadband free for 18 months then £9.99pcm. Plus I'd have to pay a £49.99 installation charge.
  6. My VeryPC Pocket Rocket (are you still selling them/ calling them that?) has just that. Basically, I was able to take the 1TB HDD out of my old laptop and slot it straight in the spare drive bay. And if the head wants something that looks the part, have a word with @VeryPC_Colin_M about putting a custom skin on it with the school logo or whatever you want. This is what ours looks like:
  7. No, that doesn't have any kind of hook. It does, however, remind me of this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lITuHDdhdkw
  8. Can I just add that, a full week after @sparkeh's bits and pieces post, I've STILL got Hue & Cry buzzing around my head, and occasionally leaping out of my mouth. Thanks a lot, pal!
  9. Do you mean like in the photo I posted 2 pages back? Your threats have no hold over me! I have the power!
  10. Hahahahahaaha! Well done, ladies. That was magnificent! It almost makes up for me not winning the star prize (or ever being drawn out of the chassis/sock). As an aside, Jess the dog was sat next to me until I played the Drag Race video, at which point she leapt of the couch, hid outside the door and growled until it was over. Thanks again to all at VeryPC for another month of merriment, mirth-making and mayhem.
  11. Pester power is one of the chief weapons in my armoury. I daresay I have used it against you on previous occasions and will again in the future. Example: That huge sock that you use for the draw instead of the Broadleaf chassis, don't you think that would make an ideal MADvent prize this year? Hanging up next to the fireplace. Eh, eh? Don't you? (Just sayin', is all.)
  12. :D:D:D:D:D Pester power wins again! :D:D:D:D:D
  13. May I take this opportunity to wish you a very happy birthday... just not THAT happy! ^^^
  14. That's his second job. I'm just impressed with the calculator M/W. What a difference that would have made!
  15. Hey, hey! It's the last day of Socktober! Looking forward to watching Colette and Rose performing their final challenge yesterday. @VeryPC - You do realise that if the 'outdoor pursuit' doesn't contain our two heroines hitching their skirts as they dash through the car park*, there will be many a sad-face Geek. Liken it to waking up on Christmas morning to find Santa lying dead in your fire place. Just to get everyone in the mood, here is my photo as promised (or threatened). *Accompanied by the theme music to either 'Chariots of Fire' - (slow motion video) - or 'The Benny Hill Show' - (fast motion video).
  16. @bitznpcz - Would you care to give us a heads up on this weekend's lottery numbers? (Or at least let me have a stroke of your rabbit's foot!)
  17. 'Is It A Dream' and 'Can You Handle It' I could possibly have guessed if I heard a little more (like the choruses!) but I would never have remembered who sang them. As for DJ Fast Eddie... Who he? Nice one, @sparkeh!
  18. It Bites! Of course! And Hue & Cry. I was going to say Curiosity, too, but I knew that wasn't right. I've just had another blast from the past and watched the 80s classic Ferris Bueller's Day Off.
  19. You're both wrong! Anyone else remember these? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MmoSn02AAuA Edit: Actually put the video link in now! Edit of edit: No, this time. Really!
  20. Nice one, @sparkeh! These are the ones I know (without cheating): 1. Banana Republic by The Boomtown Rats 2. Don't know (but through my tinny laptop speakers it sounds a bit like David Sylvian and/or Japan) 3. Young at Heart by The Bluebells (as correctly identified by @Seb1780) 4. No idea 5. Gnnnrrrraammmmmnnnnggg! I know it, I know it! It's by Howard Jones but the title escapes me. Is it New Song? 6. I Want Candy by Bow Wow Wow (also correctly identified) 7. Calling All the Heroes by (I think) Big Audio Dynamite 8. I recognise it but can't remember. Something by Spandau Ballet, perhaps or Wet, Wet Wet? 9. At first I thought it was INXS but it's not. Don't know if it's called 'Ain't gonna work for you no more', but that's the most prominent line in the song. Was it Johnny Hates Jazz or something? No I don't think so. 10. Don't know. Candy Statton? I'll have another couple of listens before I search for the answers so don't give it away just yet, although you can let me know if I'm on the right lines with the ones I've had a stab at.
  21. What's to muse?! I'm prepared to wager a sizeable sum that a vox-pop on the subject would overwhelmingly come out in support of DRAG RACE! If I can wear a dress on stage (photo pending), Mc and Bob can do it in your warehouse (*cough*...and on YouTube... forever!).
  22. I discovered on Friday that school is closed all week so I can't go in even if I wanted to. I did, to be honest, but I'm not going to complain about a week off! Still checking in here every now and again, though.
