  1. Oh ok thank you very much, we'll have a look at that.
  2. They're studying the Cambridge National Technicals, the wording in there states that they need to: Be able to create a virtual or augmented reality resource: 3.1. Develop, i.e.:• create the trigger points of interest• create the layer(s)/overlay(s)
  3. Sorry to bring back an old thread but our Computer Science Department are looking to buy some 360 video cameras and some software so they can create some content with 'Triggers' in, they obviously want the footage to be HD which the ricoh cameras seem to come out top on all the reviews for but i'm struggling to find the software aspects. Anybody found anything?
  4. +1 for every here, good system really, we've also looked at School Asset Manager which has this function in it as well.
  5. Could you post a screen grab of your rule so we can see where you've gone wrong? I've just done this for our students and did exclusions for certain groups.
  6. We use Backup Exec here to back up our SIMS server which also hosts our separate finance system, but because of the importance of it as you say, we also pay our local support company and have an offsite Redstor backup. We've had two issues this year where we have had to restore from the Redstor backup and it worked brilliantly.
  7. I've asked our Librarian for you. She says... "I’ve attached the MLS advice and compatible models Compatible models.docx – it does suggest that most models should be compatible though, MLS suggest that you contact the manufacturer before you purchase to make sure. I’ve brought all of our barcode stuff from Barcode Scanners | Buy barcode scanners, barcode readers, barcode label printers, plastic card printers, barcode hardware & software UK they were helpful before so it might be worth contacting them for advice."
  8. Sorry if this in the wrong place but i've looked all over and can;t find anything and thought this might be the best place for it. An ex student from our school with severe visual impairment has gone on to university but is struggling, and has asked me the below question about remote cursor zoom tracking, if anybody has any ideas that could help him at all he'd be very very grateful. Here is his question. --- I am trying to follow presentations and live demonstration using TeamViewer in MEETING mode at a university through the local network, the host computer is controlled via the lecturers where the presentations are delivered from along with live coding. When using TeamViewer with the Windows magnifier as a client I have to move the magnifier manually around the screen as my mouse pointer moves independent to the hosts mouse pointer (the lecturers computer.) is there any way my mouse pointer could be moved in synchronization with the lecturers mouse pointer using TeamViewer so the windows magnifier in full screen mode does not have to be moved manually via myself around the screen? is TeamViewer the best piece of software to use for viewing a presentation and live demonstration or should a classroom management software be looked into? TeamViewer was primarily built for remote support if anybody has any ideas please let me know, the use of TeamViewer along with a magnifier is used due to visual impairment. Thank you.
  9. We had issues with the calculator, in that when you pressed copy to work area it crashed the software out.
  10. Hi, we've brought them in the past several times, we also just ask dt to make some out of thick round dowel.
  11. Next half term top priority for me!!! Knew i'd find a good use for Minecraft EDU
  12. Same here, except i used adobe fireworks for all of ours, which i'm really glad of because i've just had to add all the fire exit routes on to them.
  13. It's myself and an IT teacher running our club, we're having to run the club 3 times a week with different kids due to the amount of kids wanting to be in the club. We're learning more watching them play then we did playing it for years!
  14. I ended up creating a custom start menu folder for a single account, so that only that account got the shortcut to launch minecraft. The account gets enabled when they want to use it. It wasn't too bad for us as it's only one room we are using it in.
  15. To be honest, i tried to package and decided that as we were only running this in one room, i just copied the file to each of the machines C drives and then published a shortcut.
  16. Hi everyone, was hoping someone on here could point me in the direction of what has happened. One of our caretakers has a Samsung Galaxy S3 which we set up a VPN on for him to our Cisco firewall using the inbuilt android VPN client so he could access the CCTV on our network off site. Ever since his phone automatically upgraded to KitKat android from Jellybean it now just times out when connecting. I've deleted the connection and reset it back up, which didn't help. I've put his account details and the same settings in my Note 4 also running the same version of KitKat and it works fine on my phone. A quick google said to stop and remove cache from the google framework service but that didn't help. i know the answer is probably too reset his phone to defaults but want to avoid that if possible? Any ideas? Anyone please?
  17. Yeh that's the issue, so we did it temporarily to test it worked, have changed it back now.
  18. Hi all, we've just had it installed by our SIMS support provider and it's all working absolutely fine, its had minimal impact on resources on the server. Running really well, only issue i did find is that you have to be registered as a teacher in SIMS to use it, which means unless you make support staff into a teacher they do not appear in the list. Spec of our server is: Virtual (VMWare) 4 vCPU 16gb Ram HDD - iscsi SAN
  19. Thanks @matt40k be great to get this working.
  20. So how do you run the solus deployment server UI off the server?
  21. Hi we purchased an Evolis Primacy badge printer just over a year ago now and we're quite happy with it, it doesn't do duplex straight out the box, but you can by a little software key which goes inside that activates the duplex function.
  22. Thanks @nick3young.....i thought i had clicked server but i obviously didn't...working now
