What software is this in? If it's Excel Use conditional formatting on the cell. It works on the Value so you you can define your own ranges for R A G. If this is SIMS/Integris/Arbor etc. I'm not sure.

Not Normal. They went for a rather un-sophisticated method of segregation. It could be due to bandwidth if each router has it's own line. If not it can all be done with VLANs and QoS settings but that would need someone who knows what they are doing.

Good on you. And trading Standards is dead right. They cannot fob you off on to the manufacturer. My issues was a little different as the Hudle was a Tesco own brand they were still technically dealing with it themselves. I just had to jump through hoops to get it sorted. I would say so. But it depends on the amount of data. Can you backup your data in the given time window? Will each of the site have their own admin? If so I'd set up one forest (mat.org) with a central forest root server. Each school would have a child domain (School.mat.org) with as many servers as required. Delegate admin of each child domain to the on-site tech. You access AD on the parent domain and can admin the whole forest from there. The only issue comes if the school moves away from the MAT. The orphaned child domain would lose 2 FSMO roles (Domain Naming master Schema Master). The child domain could function indefinitely providing they didn't want to make any major changes, like adding exchange server that would extend the schema. Gaining full control would mean setting up a new domain and migrating over it. But as it wouldn't be your headache at that point it is only of minor concern.

@pcstru I agree and have no doubt that Tesco's lawyers have gone over it and they probably satisfy all the requirements of the sale of goods act. But in my experience Lawyers seem to equate legal with moral or acceptable. However it's a long long long game and ultimately consumers have the last word as long as we realise it. That's why I don't buy anything from Tesco where a warranty is important to me. Exercising my choice is my ultimate redress. Since the Hudle incident I have purchased the iPad, Coffee maker, Mobile phone, 24" tv and a Printer/Scanner elsewhere. The TV I actually put in my trolley until my wife reminded me! All these things I saw in Tesco before I purchased them. Poor service has cost them over £700 of my business so far.

Tesco have subcontracted their service department and it's all for their benefit not yours. I had a similar problem with my Son's Hudle which is even their ow brand. I took it to the store I bought it from who called the service centre, they had to send a courier out to collect it but they were not allowed to collect if from the store! Problem is I work in the Field and my wife is a Home and Hospital teacher who works here, there and everywhere. We were just not available for the courier. No Local family and the neighbours we speak to all work too. And to be honest after that why the hell should I take a day's holiday to sit in and wait for a courier when I drive past the store I bought it from every day! Tesco were quite literally saying that if I didn't arrange my life to suit their driver then I may as well bin the Hudle because they aren't going to offer anything else. I was fuming! In the end I googled the CEO and the Director of Customer services and outlined my woes to them in an email. They made a "one off jesture of goodwill" and ended up refunding the full amount of the Hudle and I bought the boy an iPad online. I now never buy anything electrical from Tesco. I spent 15 years in electrical retail before being a school techie I would not have thought that such poor service was possible from such a prominent retailer. Once bitten twice shy. Doesn't really help your situation other than to illustrate that you are not alone in your frustration and Don't let it drop. Take it all the way to the top if you have to.

I take it these have been refreshed. I'm in a similar position with some older servers with much lower spec. I'd set three up with VM Ware free, keep the other two in lieu of any warranties and then use them for non essential systems. I'd put my Spiceworks server on them and set up a test domain where I'd prove things work before introducing them to the production network. I'd also set setup some VM ware workstations on the production network, again for testing/Dev.

We have a need for three people to access SIMS from home. Cost is obviously a major factor. I've looked at a few options but none of them jump out as clearly the way to go. What do you guys use, why, how much does it cost and are there any wow factors or pitfalls? I've looked at: Captia Learning gateway but I think it's a lot for what we need. We'd be paying for things we won't use. Citrix with a VM ware CAG seems overkill for three people. HAP, I've no experience with this and at first glance it looks like it's based on old web folders IIS features. Not sure how or even if you can access applications with it. Any ideas welcome.

How have you changed the routing table to allow x.x.37.x route to x.x.38.x? Do you have ACLs set up between the VLANs? Have you defined a separate vlan for x.x.37.x?

I just bought a cheap £70 Android phone from Aldi to replace my iPhone 4s that I need to give back to work. I love Android now more than ever. I just feel free. I can play my music from my NAS box, copy files as I like, put in extra SD memory, Chrome cast from Kodi to my TV. All with out an extra penny spent! I don't even have my SIM yet, that's on order from Giff Gaff but for now Skype works just fine! I will never ever ever ever go back to Apple. But it's mainly because I feel Apple want to tell me what I can and can't do with MY phone and manipulate me to maximise their profits.

First few modules of ECDL should about cover it. There's lots of materials out there you could recycle. Do just enough hardware so that they know that case isn't the hard drive. Concentrate on success after that. Email, Social media are both good to get people actually doing something. A very simple budgeting spread sheet. Remember it's only to show then that Spread sheets exist and maybe spark an interest. Avoid actual databases. If you want to get them storing and retrieving data get them to set up a Google account and add contacts. Connecting a phone or digital camera if they have one perhaps in the later weeks. Playing Movies and or music might be good too. My Dad (in his 80's) loves youtube now he's found Nat King Cole and Tony Bennet on there!

It depends, If you have a call centre say where all they have access to is the Comms app and a database you might be able to get a ratio greater than 1:500. On the flip side I've seen a college IT dept with 20 computers used to deliver Cisco, N+, A+ etc where they've had a full time tech to themselves because there's no restrictions as such. They used different virtual machines depending on the class. In most schools with tools like Imparo, CC4, spiceworks etc you can certainly get close to 1:500 if you are given the time to set it up properly in the first place.

I think you misunderstand, or I do... It's not in the same subnet. Have you tried changing 192.168.7.254 for 192.168.1.107 and the same again for each subnet. E.g. 192.168.15.254, 192.168.19.254, 192.168.23.254. Changing each of then for 192.168.1.107. This is the Ethernet port for the device NOT the DFG for the subnet. The config file defines Port 0 at the top. Each Subnet needs access to an IP in the same subnet as Port 0 to route. It looks like you can use the same IP address for each subnet. So you use 192.168.1.107 in every subnet. Can you ping other devices across the subnets?

You've set it to the DFG in each subnet. In the example I have it's set to one IP address above the port IP so if I were you I'd that first. 192.168.1.107 Also, really must agree with ITGuyWM Smartcache is end of life. It's not fit for purpose anymore. It not a supportable solution you need to upgrade.

An Alternative is when a bus starts to run late it misses a stop and lets the one behind pick up that stop. It would have to change it's sign to "not in Service" to lessen customer grunblings. But they're grumbling anyway because it's late. This at least helps the passengers on the rest of the bus route. Skipping a stop however doesn't work if passengers want to get off!

No doubt it's a good price. You might regret it if you are commuting on roads. I started commuting on my MTB (£900 Kona) and soon bought a cheap hybrid. The brakes interest me. Most bike have either Disk or V-brakes. That has Disc front and V on the rear. There's a lot of debate about brakes. Personally I prefer disk, esp on my MTB so when I'm ploughing through mud and water the braking surface remains free of debris and water. The one piece of advice I would give is be careful when braking, particularly in wet conditions. You may find that front brake out performs the rear which could lead to a loss of control. If you have one brake better than the other you really need the best one on the back. For what it is, £125 is a good price.
