No surprise there then

We have netbooks and for the most part they are kept in school. Only some of the 6th form take them home and have made good use of them. We have had problems with them losing internet settings on a regular basis. Also the ones we have are the ones with dongles which have a slot in sim card. Yes you've guessed it the sims go walkabout never to be seen again. Currently there are 10 dongles sitting useless as the sims are missing/stolen. Add to this they are all in linux! It is doubtful if we will repeat the excercise.

We had CC4 installed last July as a clean install. Like many others we suffered months and months of all the usual problems, software roll outs, machines not building, users losing work and home areas etc etc etc. Finally now though I would say on balance it is running better seems more stable and finally we can get on with other jobs instead of firefighting. Oh aye and the management consul is still a lying g1t at times too. Time will tell but it is looking much better. Still wouldn't like to go through the whole process again though in a hurry. The only plus we got a whole load of new machines by way of compensation!!!!!

Get yourself to some of the CEOPS courses they are excellent. Least they deal with e-safety so should point you in the right direction.

Our meals are dire to say the least and at £2 for a set meal (who else has curry rice and macedon for a meal???) Sandwiches come in at upwards of £2.20 also!!! The quality is appalling too.

Banners for the National Days are a very good idea. Nice to feel pride in our own countries within the UK. An English banner for St Georges day would look good. ;0)

Brokeback Mountain almost had me shove needles into to my eyes to alleviate the boredom!!! In fact as I recall I may have had a 10 minute shut eye while it was on such was the scintilation of the movie!!!

Hello all I can't remember if I introduced myself but have been on the site for a wee while now. I am Jackie and another Laydeee Geek!! I came late into the game as was in my 40's when I got into IT as worked in a jail for 6 years as network administrator/co-ordinator. Though am Scots I live and work in Wallsend!! I am an IT Technician in a school for 11-18 year olds. We run CC4 and since it was installed last July have had a bit of an up and down road with it. Seems to be settling a bit now though software roll outs can still be problematic.

Am from Scotland too from Grangemouth, lived in Helensburgh for years then Paisley, Fife and now in Newcastle for my sins.
