That sounds very odd. What model of tablet is it? Might be worth reinstalling Windows (try using 8.1?), because all this does not sound like normal W8 behaviour! How about this to get a file explorer window up: right click on the desktop, create a folder, open it?

@X-13 - you can browse Windows Explorer as normal on Windows 8, just type 'explore.exe' from the start screen, or click the 'Desktop' tile and then Explorer should be pinned to the taskbar. EDIT: Sorry to ask a silly question, but this /is/ a Win 8 Pro tablet, rather than one of those RT wannabes, right?

Nice, I can see this being useful for some staff who use their Outlook calendar a lot. In the docs, when you say it removes all appointments after the first date in the XML file, does that literally mean all appointments in the user's calendar are nuked, or just the ones that the script has created?

This looks very cool - I'm assuming it dumps it into their regular Exchange calendar? If you want to update the data due to a timetable change, will it overwrite the existing data, or create new events?

Pretty much as it says, I'd like to get some recommendations for A/C installers/maintainers that would cover the South London area. We can't seem to get hold of our normal guy, and as there's a leak in the piping which means that all A/C units on the ground floor can't be used, we'd like to get it sorted ASAP! There's also the matter of a new unit for the server room...

Two reasons not to use email disclaimers IMO: 1) As has been pointed out, they have no basis in law and are very unlikely to stand up in court. 2) They make following email chains laborious if they're added to all emails automatically, as you have to wade through pages of waffle to get to the actual messages.

Is deleting and recreating the user account an option? Also - double check security group membership, I've been caught out by that in the past.

Hello, me again! Got another oddity - when I try to change 'Enable Read to' or 'Enable Write to' to something other than the default 'All', I click on 'Custom' in the popup box, typing something into the search field and then click to search. The 'Active Directory Browser' pops up but remains blank and inert. If I try typing a group name into the box, clicking 'Add' and then saving, I get the following error: The formatter threw an exception while trying to deserialize the message: There was an error while trying to deserialize parameter HAP.Web.API:origunc. The InnerException message was 'There was an error deserializing the object of type System.String. Encountered unexpected character 'S'.'. Please see InnerException for more details. This happens whether I use a bare group name, or the Distinguished Name. I've tried Chrome, Firefox, IE 8 and 9 - same results. Any ideas? ---- EDIT: Found what is probably the root weirdness: My AD credentials aren't being saved (properly?). I enter the username and password, click 'Save' and everything goes through okay, but when the page reloads there's still a red cross next to 'Basic settings'. I see the below in Firebug if it helps. What's odd is that other things that rely on AD connectivity (like file uploads) work, so... 'wat?!' ---- Okay, this is going to be the last edit, promise! I can get the browser to work by putting in the PW on the Basic Settings screen, not clicking Save and then going straight to the MyFiles tab, but when I add a group to the list through the browser and click 'Save', I still get the deserialization error as above. My group names have spaces in them if that's relevant.

Silly question really, but I can't seem to find any documentation for this: What are the specs for the Ruckus 7363 AP mains power supply? I know it's 12V 1.5A, but I'd like to be 100% sure of connector size, polarity, etc. A part number or link to generic power supply that you've used with the APs would be awesome, thanks.

You need to populate the central store: copy everything (files and folders) from the %systemroot%\PolicyDefinitions folder on the server to the central store.

When you say falling off, do you mean giving errors like 'the trust relationship between this computer and the primary domain has failed blah blah', or is it actually reverting to being in a workgroup?
