I see what you mean, should be easy to fix both issues and as soon as I'm back from very [emoji295]️[emoji295]️ Spain tomorrow, I'll look to sort these out over the weekend. Thanks

Hi, The toolbar & menu bar both are disabled while in any window like screen options or previous versions, this is done on purpose you do not deviate from the window you are supposed to be using. In the config where there are tags, it means basically empty or blank. To make it useable with a value change it to and enter in your value in between.

I aim to please as quick as possible :-)

Hi folks, After a hard week of coding, I've decided to release it below: I'm pretty sure I have covered all bases with this one.... Enjoy and have fun!! Basic documentation is included with this ExamWritePad2.zip PS, Any issues please email me ASAP and when I'm back on the 10th June I can start to sort them out....
-
I've now added into v2, each time the software opens will self register its own file extension (.ExamText), so in real terms, open the software then close it (so it registers the file extension), then every time you double click on an ExamText file, it will load into the software to print off or do what ever. The reason why it self registers everytime you open the software is because it makes it more portable, so if you move its location to a different folder, it will self register again.
-
Don't worry, I'll build it into v2, when you first run the software it will self register .ExamText file extension, but only on a per user basis, because some users won't have write access to HKCR registry to make it global, hopefully released on Friday or Saturday. :-)
-
Let's try breaking this down, apologies but I don't understand why you would want to open a previously opened file, for what reason? I can see a point to registering the .ExamText file extension then you could double click on the saved file then it would open up. Are you wanting this because you need to print out in a different location or time, than directly within the exam once finished?

Im not sure who asked but...... A new addition to version 2 is a total page count in the footer, eg page 1/4, page 2/4 etc..
-
Done also for version 2, thanks :-)
-
It is already done for version 2. :-)

If your wondering when it (version 2) will be released, I will release it next week just before I go on holiday. Please don't use it in a live environment until you are happy that you have tested it fully. And like you have been doing report any bugs ASAP, but mention which build number you are using eg 1.9.9.3 or 2.0.0.0, When I'm back on the 10th I will respond to you all. Hopefully we can get this in every school within the next few years :-)
-
Thanks for the mention! :-)

We had unprecedented numbers this year, we had 8 laptops in the main hall, which are stripped back Windows 7 with practically nothing on and auto login. We also use ExamWritePad which has auto save, auto backup, double line spacing, custom header for name, candidate number, centre number, exam paper. Just to name a few of the fabulous features.... We also use extension reels with anti trip mats so they can stay on mains. Then there are two small USB printers to share between the 8 laptops. Oh and no wifi or Ethernet, totally cut off from the world.

Hi Folks, I'm currently working on version 2 of ExamWritePad, so far so good, its nearly finished, re-written using an Extended RichTextBox control from Microsoft. So what I'm asking for is features to be added in that could be useful to have. So far I have already implemented the following (over the weekend): Formatting Options (Menu) Single/Double Line Spacing (screen & print) Bullets Alignment (Left/center/right) Styles (Normal/Italic/Bold/Underline) Indent Paragraphs Screen Options (Menu) Zoom In Zoom Out Zoom Reset Text Editing (Menu) Undo Redo Select All Cut Copy Paste Also a new toolbar with smaller quick access buttons on Most of the above can be disabled from being shown via the config file as normal. I'm very open to suggestions, and all the bugs/issues reported previously have now been sorted in version 2.

i will be tidying up code throughout the whole program when I release version 2 in the next few weeks.... So ill make sure it does what it suppose to all the time, every time :-)
-
ok will take a look thanks :-)

I take your point on board, I will fix for next release :-)
