Hi all, The next release of EWP will be the last one.... that supports Windows XP and the .NET 4.0 framework.... Got you all going them didnt I? I bet you all thought I was finishing the project, not a chance :-) With the increased security risk that .NET Framework 4.0 poses over later versions and the fact that I wish to use new features like Long File Path names etc... I will be pushing up the .NET version to 4.7.2 which means Windows 7 SP1 or higher will be required. Future plans (To infinity and beyond) Ideally I would like to be cross-platform and using the upcoming .NET Core 3 framework seems appealing but I would have to rewrite everything, so this is not happening, for the time being, never say never. So in reality it will continue as a Windows only application for the foreseeable. I'm also getting to the point where I have exhausted all I can from the ExtendedRichEdit control developed by Microsoft in 2008! So in order for me to take this one stage further, I will have to purchase a 'WordDoc/RichText' style control from a third party, but this comes at a cost and as yet I haven't received any donations to date to support this purchase. People have promised but not delivered. So please if you can donate to the cause I would be most grateful. https://www.paypal.me/ExamWritePad Best Regards ExamWritePad :-)

I do remember a written conversation yes but I’ve not been able to do anything as yet as I can’t find an easy way to do it. I’m all open to suggestions but the issue will be when changing the font when calling extra time. I could certainly add in a text string to denote “Extra Time” but to change the colour and to get it to hold is s different story.

Yes please and I will pass them on the boss man[emoji1303]

I just wish they would bridge the UTM and XG with a migration tool, I bloody hate starting from fresh when you have so much to configure [emoji1]

Download Link https://drive.google.com/open?id=1aTxgOvnPXcsjqHOXQUS9F6qnf9yxG3Ul Change Log (Now included within the documentation folder is a FULL change log) 2.2.0.3 (Current) ADDED: A start-up check has been added to detect that the config is present, this has been done to stop candidates deleting the file to alter the way EWP operates to obtain more features than intended to, which were set by the Exams Officer. In previous versions EWP would still run without a config file loading a default set of values which would result in EWP not being more open then normally required. So remember the config file must always reside in the same folder as the EWP application. If you rename the application, you must also rename the config to the same name. 2.2.0.2 ADDED: Allow ‘Split Screen’ feature to run o monitors lower than 1680px wide. This might not give you expect results but should be OK on 1280px wide monitors. Set the config option called “AllowSplitScreenLowerResolutions” to 1 to allow. 2.2.0.1 CHANGED: If you changed the Exam Board List in the config, it might not print the coversheet. You will now be given a message window to tell you what the issue is.

Hi, I've still not received anything from you in terms of the error message so I will go ahead and close this one as a one off, no-one else has reported it.
-
Any joy in getting me the screenshot?
-
I’d need to see a screenshot of the error so I know where to start looking to see if there is an issue. Any chance you can replicate it know exactly what it says?
-
Let me take a look on this resolution and if it works I will put an override in the config to allow for lower resolutions. I will Report back soon
-
Yes it won’t print if you have edited it, as the list to check in the code is hard coded to that of the default list. If you change the list or add your own the software will not know which coversheet to print.

Download Link https://drive.google.com/open?id=1P5aeKEgGU4aPRMTdjbZBME493W7RMrTJ Change Log (Now included within the documentation folder is a FULL change log) 2.2.0.0 (Current) FEATURE: ‘Split Screen’ for those that require it. If you have a monitor that is 1680 wide or higher then you will have a new option on the ‘Screen’ dropdown menu called ‘Activate Split screen’. This will automatically snap the EWP window to the right hand side allowing the left hand side to be used to display, for example, a PDF copy of the exam paper. In addition to this, if you have the option to show the candidate information window on launch, you are given a one-time only checkbox to also activate split screen mode. 2.1.9.9 - 2.1.9.5 Build Skipped 2.1.9.4 FIXED: When typing in an Exam Board on the Candidate Information window the error message never disappears if you accidently clicked OK/Print having generated the error from the button click. 2.1.9.3 CHANGED: Housekeeping on back end code redundant functions/procedures. 2.1.9.2 CHANGED: Some Menu buttons have had their text label shortened to allow for more button in future builds. For example “Formatting Options” has now become “Formatting” and “Screen Options” has now become “Screen”. 2.1.9.1 FIXED: When using the Splash Screen on start-up you could bypass start-up checks if clicking on Open File then cancelling the open file dialog window. This bypass has now been closed off and the start-up splash screen will reappear if you try to bypass in future. 2.1.9.0 CHANGED: The decision has been made to separate the printing of the coversheet and document text into two separate processes. This is because a number of users have experienced issues where thecoversheet failed to print. So from now on, there are two buttons on the candidate information screen: “Print Document” and “Print Coversheet”. So please remember this for future :-) 2.1.8.9 FIXED: The current save path would not appear until after the auto-save timer had elapsed, when used with the config option ‘SavePromptAfterCandidateInfoScreenOnLaunch’. It now appears immediately after save. 2.1.8.8 ADDED: New ‘AppLocker’ variables have been added for use within the Save, Open and Backup paths. Which allows EWP to pick up the first USB Removable drive that is writeable to the user with at least 1MB free space also. These are variables are: %REMOVABLE% and %HOT% 2.1.8.7 FIXED: Open file path is now shown immediately on the status bar, it would have only shown after 60 seconds on previous versions of EWP. 2.1.8.6 CHANGED: Spell Check is now turned on by default without having to click the ‘Spell Check’ button to turn it on and highlight words etc...

Difficult to keep track of the 4 threads I’ve got open for EWP but nevertheless I will put in a full change log on the next build coming soon, version 2.2 [emoji1303]
-
In the latest version the Character Map will offer you a basic accent map or the windows character map [emoji1303]

If you subscribe to this thread it’s where I post all the changelogs http:// /showthread.php?t=196294

Is this any good (image below/attached)? I'm testing on a 1680 width screen so anything higher would be no problem. I've had to re-label the menu items with shorter text and smaller font size to fit for this split screen feature only. If you think it will be OK can I send you over a private beta version to run at your end?
-
Which feature do you use that doesn’t come with the free version? I can feed all this back to our exams officer. Thanks
-
Just out of interest are you using the read&write premium features or the free text to speech feature in read&write?
-
Ah I see the snap to left/right screen feature. This is something I would have to play with simply because there is no scale ability/zoom of the actual page size like you can in word. Might take a few weeks to investigate but we have time :-)

Thanks for the info, are you saying that EWP always opens full screen on the left (primary monitor) and you actually want to be able to move it to the right on the secondary monitor? Regads Andy
