When they log in they can recover the previous version auto backup, which was taken every 60 seconds.

EWP only gets rid of the auto backup files not the saved files. What we do is when a student logs onto a laptop, the home directory and desktop are mapped to an area that is generated with a path that is created with a time stamp. This way every home directory is unique. Otherwise you would have to script something at log off to clear up areas where a user might save to.

Just wondering if anyone else has come accross the same issue with 10.6? We get access denied when trying to browse homedir. Our 10.5 instance is running fine, no issues. But we have the login issue if the username is incorrect it thows up the IIS debug error page. So I decided to give 10.6 a go. Any help with either issue would be great.

Not even thought about it, but given that .NET framework is moving towards .Net Core, which is cross platform, there may well be a version for linux, adroid, windows macOS etc... I will keep everyone posted on this but likelyhood I will not have anything tangible to test until 2020.

Honestly not sure about this one, but I'm currently writing into EWP a full debug for every single function and procedure it uses, so I can trap every single error that may arise. When this is done you would activate it via the 'DebugApplication' config option and go into the users temp folder to see the html file that is generated. Watch this space for when it is released.

Weird character printing for us was down to using PCL6 drivers on HP printers, we had to drop them all down to PCL5 drivers.

Download Link https://drive.google.com/open?id=1_GFXrcawX0l-G9staTT-hpwo8rp1QaTu Release Notes 2.4.2.4 (21/03/2019) CHANGED: Changed the Syllabus code to allow up to 6 characters. 2.4.2.3 CHANGED: Changed the candidate number to allow 5 digits for CIE exams if you wish to use the number 2 prefix. I’ve spoken to CIE and they have confirmed that it is not required but will except the 5 digit candidate number or the original 4 digit number. 2.4.2.2 (16/03/2019) CHANGED: Documentation and Release Notes have now been compiled into one Documentation file. With this, includes a full disclaimer, Exam body Compliance and GDPR compliance statements. FIXED: Erroneous spacing when printing the header between different exam boards. 2.4.2.1 FIXED: The whole document text would be selected after replacing all occurrences of a specific word using the replace window. 2.4.2.0 FEATURE: Added ability to ‘Find’ and/or ‘Replace’ text via the Edit menubar item. This also comes with the option to disable it via the config file. Included with this is an updated ConfigEditorGUI (version 1.6) with the two new config options to show or hide find/replace options. These options are called ‘Hide_Find’ and ‘Hide_Replace’. 2.4.1.0 FIXED: Pasting text on a new blank document would result in an exception error. 2.4.0.9 FIXED: Pasting text after superscript/subscript text would not continue with the font style used in the pasted text, thus would be set to superscript/subscript. 2.4.0.8 FIXED: Pressing the Superscript/Subscript menu item did not revert the selected text back to normal. 2.4.0.7 FIXED: Setting ‘Normal’ formatting option, would not revert all selected text to normal in some instances. 2.4.0.6 FIXED: Tab key issue on the candidate information window.

Hi, OK, thanks for the info, you will need to use the the latest version 2.4.2.2 if your school are using the EXam Board Cambridge (CIE) as the cover sheet has changed. Please try this version, also with this version is the config option to show the Taskbar and disable TopMost, so at least this way when you test EWP if the printer selection window is behind you should see a taskbar icon for it. If it doesn't appear then there is a communication issue. Nothing to do with EWP as it uses the standard .Net Framework Print Dialog call. Other .net programs would be experiencing a similar issue too. Let me know what your outcome is and if you fixed it. Thanks

The candidate window is there for a reason so as to enforce that the candidate fills out all fields necessary as required by the exam board. Just a few questions, which version of ExamWritePad are you using? Does the freeze happen before the printer selection window or after selecting a printer? The reason I ask is that it will only seem to freeze after printer selection, if communication to the printer is slow, for exam printing to a WiFi printer that is connected to a print server. Other than that the printer selection window is always forced to the top above all other windows.

Your welcome[emoji1][emoji1303]

No problem. I've seen a few schools, where the exams officer, collects the files on memory stick, dumps them into a folder, runs a VBScript that loops through each file in that folder and prints via command line.
-
There currently is not, simply because we cant assume the candidate details have been filled in correctly and fully. There are command line options to print a file to a specific printer. See the documentation for further assistance on command line parameters. You may be better off scripting it with commandline parameters. Thanks for the support, much appreciated!! [emoji1][emoji1303]

Just to let you all know that there will be another new version this week with some minor but crucial changes: CIE Syllabus Codes, can be upto 6 characters in length, EWP only allows 4, this will change. WJEC candidate numbers, in most exam board the candidate number is 4 digits but WJEC always ask that the number 2 is put before the candidate number making it 5 digits. So I'm changing the max characters of the candidate number from 4 to 5. If anyone knows why WJEC are like this, drop me a reply, interested to know.

All issues reported have now been fixed in the new version released this weekend :-)

We have 1709 and used same one on 1809 test, everything work ok but one thing regarding Internet. We had the issue with the cryptography service stopped internet pages from loading. We have tried numerous fixes from google forums suggested but nothing works permanently. We will test 1903 in a few months after it’s release to see if it’s any better. Strange thing is that it’s ok on a test VM but as soon as we install on a classroom PC, no internet after a while. Also on the back of that is we had to stop the clients from going online to check for updates so it wouldn’t install major versions.
