Can you send me the whole config as it’s ok for me and no one else has reported this issue as yet. Thanks
-
I know I’m good at delivering things but given a task to do during the exam period is a massive ask. I wish exam officers would have the foresight to think of these things before they go into exam season. We could all rest easy then [emoji1][emoji1][emoji1303]

It’s worth putting in an insert image feature which can be disabled as usual by config option. Any new request will be dealt with and added to the list for August/September release.
-
Yes I can do it but not by 10th June, as I’m on holiday for two weeks. Actually you are the very first person to ask for these features. Tables, no problem, to what level of functionality I’m not sure. With regards inserting images, surely inserting an image is a form of cheating unless the image is drawn during the exam by a paint package. Would love to have your thoughts on this and which exam you would need this for?

For those new to EWP, please remember that the Centre Name field cannot be filled in via the candidate information window, it has to be set in the config file. This was done for a reason.

Download Link: https://sheldnet.co.uk/examwritepad/ExamWritePad_2500.zip Change Log: 2.5.0.0 (09/05/2019) ADDED: New config option “ForceSave” which when turned on, will force the user to save the file and cannot continue until they do. 2.4.9.0 FIXED: Syllabus Code would not be used within the default save filename or Document print title, when using CIE board. 2.4.8.0 CHANGED: Entry Code textbox has been added Candidate Information window for WJEC based exams. The coversheet will now printout the Entry Code andUnit/Component code in the correct boxes. 2.4.7.0 CHANGED: Exam Board dropdown list was not sorted in alphabetical order. 2.4.6.0 ADDED: Reduced the number of extra dialog messages that popup when printing. Any information will now appear on the Candidate Information window as a statusmessage above the close button. This is done, to stop instances where the dialogs go behind the main window and cannot be activated to proceed, thus EWP becomeseffectively stuck. 2.4.5.0 ADDED: Config option to add in the “Exam Series” text so it prints onto the cover sheet of any WJEC or CIE examination. Use the config options “ExamSeriesText_WJEC” or“ExamSeriesText_CIE” or both, and set the values to, for example: Summer 2019 (May/June Series), ask your exams officer for the exact text to use. 2.4.4.1 ADDED: Spell check for English (UK British) has been updated to OpenOffice extension version 2019.05.01b 2.4.4.0 FEATURE: Check for Updates. This new feature will allow you to check for updates on startup or via the help menu from the main EWP window, you also have the ability todisabled checking for updates completely. Also provided is the ability to check for updates if using a proxy server. New config options have been added for the following:"Update_ProxyPass", "Update_ProxyPort", "Update_ProxyServer", "Update_ProxyUser", "Update_CheckOnStartup", "Update_UseProxy", "Update_Disabled".The ConfigEditorGUI has been updated to v1.7 to include these. IMPORTANT NOTE: If your current config file is missing any config options in EWP v2.4.4.0 then they willnot be displayed or be added. IM working on a way to add them in but for now if you wish to use the latest config template, use the one provided with each update ofEWP and copy/paste your settings over. 2.4.3.0 (02/05/2019) ADDED: Full debugging/Error handling is now in place on all subroutines and functions. All errors are now caught and logged if you set “DebugApplication” = 1, in theconfig file. This will allow you to email over the HTML log file (stored in the logged‐in user’s TEMP folder) to us so we can help you better in future. 2.4.2.8 FIXED: CIE coversheet had overlapping syllabus code and component code if the syllabus code was 6 characters long. 2.4.2.7 FIXED: CIE coversheet had reference to “Select Here” dropdown list (used in the original word doc file as supplied by CIE) for invigilators job title, this has been removed soit can be hand written in as per previous years. 2.4.2.6 FIXED: DefaultOpenPath was not set correctly to the users desktop when left blank in the config file. 2.4.2.5 FIXED: Error on FirstRunTasks when setting up page layout options.

Quite right yes it does and I think they must have changed there form 4 from last year and I didn’t see it. I will be releasing a new version today ready for the start of most summer exams next week, I will included separate boxes for entry code to exiting unit code box.

Someone on here requested a “Force Save” feature where by when the prompt appears to save they cannot cancel it or deviate away from it. This has been implemented in version 2.4.5.0 along with a few other things.... :-)

scrap that last post: EWP does support ALL dead keys as used in Microsoft Word using the key combinations stated below: https://support.office.com/en-gb/article/keyboard-shortcuts-for-international-characters-108fa0c1-fb8e-4aae-9db1-d60407d13c35 For keyboard shortcuts in which you press two or more keys simultaneously, the keys to press are separated by a plus sign (+) in Word Help. For keyboard shortcuts in which you press one key immediately followed by another key, the keys to press are separated by a comma (,). To type a lowercase character by using a key combination that includes the SHIFT key, hold down the CTRL+SHIFT+symbol keys simultaneously, and then release them before you type the letter. Good news on that front! I will be hosting the project in future and I will be building into EWP a check for update feature via the Help menu. Coming soon!!
-
I asked for them to be merged, was sick of updating 4 separate threads :-)
-
Sorry no, it’s simulated as if your asking students to write it on the paper.
-
If you use MFP printers like Ricoh, then they use features like compulsory security stamping. Which would need to be turned off in the admin settings of each individual MFP.
-
Great thanks That information is not part of EWP, it’s being sent out via the Printer driver itself. Look at the font used to print it, it’s different to that of EWP. Is the printer a local USB or networked one? Reason I ask is to use a different printer just to prove the point.

Screenshot please?

No, it’s the first report of this. I’m about to release a version tomorrow where you can enable fully debugging if the app, so you can send the html file to me. The only prerequisite is dotnet 4.7 installed.
-
Exactly, not best practice given that the software is supposed to be the candidates “normal way of working” according to the exam boards. So they should have been exposed to it before the exam season starts.
-
Thank you, it’s that easy. I hope! If you don’t want to use the text editor then I have supplied a GUI editor with full descriptive of each option and possible answers.
-
Invigilators have to be familiar with the software before they are step foot in an exam room, if they are not then how do they know if someone is cheating? Our exams officer gives yearly training to all invigilators around Feb/March time ready for the summer exam season. If a the software has an issue then that’s when an IT technician steps in to resolve.

I like the idea of the force save, will take a look. [emoji3][emoji1303]

Thanks Garacesh for all the replying you have done, saved me a lot of time. DrWashu, There is no need for any additional save locations boxes as stated, set the config option “SavePromptAfterCandidateInfoScreenOnLaunch” will be sufficient that when you enter in the candidate details it will prompt asking you where do you want to save to... Given more time, I’m sure you would have read the documentation. I would never suggest throwing software out there without prior testing as you don’t know if it suits your network, GPO policies etc....

The previous versions data or auto backup data is deleted and only keeps the last 24 hours worth at anyone time. But only the last hour is visible to the user.
