I never found an easy way but we do it using the Google AD sync tool. It won’t create anyone, just moves them after being created by Microsoft. Won’t help if you don’t have servers but we still have one for our domain which syncs into 365 anyway

Are you syncing devices using Entra Connect? It’s been a while since I have done it as now fully cloud but before you had to sync users and devices to get the SSO working

Got all that sorted. Just need the database. This is a standalone PC install, very small school, so may just wait until the final day of term and charge the SA password if I cannot get it before then

I need to provide a backup of SIMS to Arbor for migration. Our MIS provider is not being very helpful, stating that SIMS do not allow it as per their recent statement etc. Do I need the SA password to be able to do a backup? Would I use dbattach to do it or is there an easier method?

Machines will get it from the DCs. Make sure these are correct. If virtualised then DCs should not get time from host. In HyperV you can turn if time synchronisation for that machine.

One of my schools has been contacted and confirmed. Others contacted and rejected (based on FTTP being available soon anyway). So expect the list to be very much already decided

Yes but then we would have to have multiple groups on the iPad for signing in/out. Sub-groups would be nice i.e Pupils -> Year 1, Year 2 That would also be good for other groups

And permissions can be confusing. On the companion app, if you are given Evacuation or Today permissions, then you can see all schools. It can not be limited to a single school(s) like the web portal can. The only way to limit it is to restrict the ability to sign in to another school, which doesn't help for Staff that roam.

Just set this up at 15 schools. We pay for the writeback. A couple of comments: SIA didn't say we couldn't use PM writeback, it was the schools who said we have different time for different years. SIA would only support one time gap for L or U marks. SIA seems to write over marks if already present. If someone is marked for Medical (M I believe) for a first thing appointment, upon returning to school SIA will overwrite that as a L/U. Admin need to manually turn back to an M

Are the failed ones MR42? The Meraki warranty on these is lifetime so should be valid up until EOS which is 2026 on this model

I can talk about Printix but we don’t use the Go element. We use the follow me system provided by Kyocera. We link Printix to our own Azure blob so the data is not stored by Printix. We then have an server hosted in Azure that is joined to all networks which allows jobs to be printed from home

Do you have to accept something from the supplier so they can add to the tenant? I know we have to but that is for CSP rather than OVS

We have a number of Stone PCs that reboot after an update to BIOS, where the only option is to flash the BIOS from USB. We are installing the same version directly from ASUS site and this fixes the problem. Anyone else having this issues? Only started this week

Why don’t you just have one server to manage all doors across the Trust? Rather than having 7 servers….

Same here, not had any comms to either of the trusts I work for. Only one use the VPN. Support say they will setup an IPSEC VPN for me but can’t say when. CEO not happy, and just places orders for 7x new connections including 3x 10GB lines

It will say that the Primary User is someone else and not allow app install or other features (such as reset, not that we use that).

Not sure the template and computer account are really related so wouldn’t expect it to remove it. I do hate the primary user thing as Company Portal will not work if you are not the PU. I just use a script that removes the PU of all machines
