  1. Email? Not that i can think of.. Create a file in a certain location? which is time / date stamped for each time they log on? More than likely, but is a script the right way to do it?.. or maybe some helpful tools?: Cjwdev | AD Tidy Free Tools __ Just noticed your name. HA!
  2. Yes, The chat support even forwarded me the link to download the correct client, which is the one I am using.
  3. Has anyone using light speed experienced issues with user authentication going through the LSguide service on a terminal server? All our users on thin clients are unable to access https://www.google.co.uk because of this. When the service is stopped the clients are able to access google, albeit a slow connection, but it does load. The service seems to be reverting back to its Tier Policy for web filtering as the user is unknown due to Authentication errors. We've contacted light speed and this is being escalated, in the mean time, there's no bad ideas!..
  4. Okay, I meant the fruit, metaphorically, but it still works that way. Maybe i should have chosen a different fruit.. or pie. everyone loves pie. .... like windows 10 sp1 version 2? Neither did Microsoft, but a pie is still a pie..
  5. Apple being a service pack and slices of said apple being individual updates, But I get the gist of it; only one version of IE will be on windows 10 and so when it updates it will be 10.1, 10.2, 10.3 etc. Which, yes, is great news for a techy and for all round troubleshooting, however a service pack as collection of updates; say 2 years from launch, Are you expecting each and every machine (home use or without WSUS) installed with a fresh install to download every existing update upto the current version or will they release an updated 'version' of windows 10 to put onto physical media. (AKA SP1 (or what ever they want to not call it). Microsoft can say they're not doing service packs any more, but just because you don't call an apple an apple doesn't make it so. Windows 10, version 102093. Windows 8->8.1 (that's a service pack) Unless i'm wrong?
  6. Isn't that like comparing Apples and sliced apples? like some sort of packed service update.. sounds vaguely familiar but I think I get what you're saying.
  7. How's it going to work for support then? Install a fresh copy of windows 10 and download an additional few gigs worth of updates to eventually replace the entire OS? which is essentially what a service pack is, only clumped together.
  8. I suppose that would make sense, You (microsoft) dont really want millions of extra copies of w10 registered to people on their work e-mails rather than one on the Volume licence admin.
  9. I wouldn't start deploying Windows 10 until at least SP1. I've given out win 10 to a few staff on some notebooks, they managed to get round fine with it. Navigation is great. But it's still buggy. Sometimes the search freezes, other times it fails to load programs. I even stuck it on a dual boot at home, but there's typically a massive error with SLi and the exact cards i am running windows 10, (not usually found in a work environment) but i'd suggest; if you have windows xp machines(or vista boohissboo). Reimage with windows 10. If not, keep w7 for the meantime. By all means, jump ahead and prep for w10 deployment with images and such. but in my opinion its not ready for an office environment just yet. If they can work Windows 7, they can work windows 10.
  10. ad block plus?
  11. I'm not really a Web designer either, but i've dabbled in CSS3. But it looks really good! a few little critiques though; On the Reading at School page the font on the documents seems a little small to me. It's readable; even without my glasses, but some may struggle. Plus, there's alot of information on that page + comic sans? Maybe cut it down to key points and have the option to download the full leaflet? Differencing themes throughout; One is squared corners, (Pupil Premium | St. Cuthbert's Primary School) Other is circular (School Data | St. Cuthbert's Primary School) Admissions | St. Cuthbert's Primary School Is this a webpage inside a webpage?
  12. Yes, I've used a different build disk and edited one of those for the SSD's. Problem has been resolved now, But thank you very much
  13. Windows 7 Images.
  14. Tried that, seems that it worked for a moment, then got to different error where it got stuck after partitioning the hard drives. I adjusted the time out on the partitioning to 5 mins to see if it would skip to the next step and now its back to square one with non build exception caught. What ever that means? Haha!
  15. I've come into this role on an RM network, it's being flattened during the summer. However in the mean time I'm trying to manage this system, Each time I go to image a machine using RM system builder I keep getting the error; "non-build exception caught" after googling and searching the knowledge base i'm unable to find a solution as RM wont tell me because im not contracted to them anymore. (Great customer service) I was wondering if anyone on here had experienced this at all or had any experience similar to this? Cheers, Dan.
  16. Identical machines? Swap the drives?
  17. Is this Pc a member of a specific group or in a different OU?
  18. gpupdate /force? If it is machine specific make sure the LAN is on 100mb and not 10. Had a similar issue with machines not updating group policy because it'd pulled down the wrong LAN driver (despite them all being the same image). Change the network cable/port. I'm just spit balling here.
  19. Is this on the c drive? Because App data is within the user profile (which you've denied access to) %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\TaskBar
  20. Print out a few sheets of paper that say "Smile you're on camera" - Bluff your way through it for a while... until the teachers moan, you admit there's no cctv, then when they eventually tell the kids there's no CCTV you might have some by that point
  21. Still image cameras that trigger via a light sensor on the bottom of the keyboards or mice?
  22. ZAP POW POW! .ZAP - Not a long term solution like SCCM, but it can be sufficient for one or 2 applications missing from a specific image.
  23. I was about to suggest locking the door and making them sign in via a sheet. Can't deny anything then.
  24. You can set a password to remove a custom profile.. But I'm just assuming that it would be an elevated profile to that of merakis' default?... or you can remove both or only the custom? But I am assuming, which is something you shouldn't do.. haha.
  25. This is where i'm at with Meraki: I have set up a VPP account. I've configured a profile, I've added onto the devices to pick up the profile. I can push and pull apps / lock device which is great send notifications via . But it asks for a password (on the device) when pushing out apps onto the device. (is this supposed to happen or can this be configured otherwise?) I digress; I've gone to enroll in DEP via. https://deploy.apple.com/ I sign in and there's no option to actually enrol in the DEP program. Is this due to me signing in on my VPP account? also, I am confused about how the accounts actually link up? This whole thing is a right kerfuffle!
