Just wanted to say this is still a problem with the same fix 8 years later! Was getting 'An unexpected error occurred' when logging into the admin dashboard, uninstalling the exam service clearly leaves something important behind as reinstalling on the same server produced the same error. Was only when I installed it on a server it had never been installed on before that it started to work again. Goobadge.

I managed to get our Mercury II working on a 32 bit build of 1909 with driver signature enforcement disabled. Had to use an older PC that had a parallel port on the motherboard though, couldn't get it to work with a USB to parallel adapter.

On one of the TPM 1.2 devices, once its installed, does it show as an unsupported device in the Windows Update section of the settings app?

I seem to recall having a similar issue with an HP G8 (we only bought one) and SCCM. Disabling secure boot, letting it image and then re-enabling it after it had built was the workaround. Might be worth a shot.

Used to get this on the SG350 switches. It was down to auto smartport kicking in and changing the port config to what the switch thought it needed to be. Turned this off on a port by port basis through the CLI and my issues went away.

Yes had exactly the same today. As soon as edit academic year is started it bombed SIMS for everyone else. In fairness it does say before you run it that it will take a long time. I ended up ditching it and adding the bank holiday through School Diary instead.

Update the BIOS to the latest version before you swap the CPU. Sometimes these boards ship with older versions of the BIOS from before 5XXX series launched and support for these CPUs was added in a later update. Thats caught a few people out I know of where they have had to source an older CPU in order to get the BIOS updated to support the newer CPU they have purchased. Unless it has BIOS flashback support in which case you're golden.

I had this issue, ended up building an unattend file that skips this part of the setup, placing it on the root of the USB drive and reinstalling.

You want install.wim - this is the OS install image. Boot.wim is the Windows 8.1 boot image, if you've set MDT up on a new server you're probably not going to need this as you've likely added a newer (more up to date) boot image for clients to boot into MDT from as part of this process.

Had the same thing, had to disconnect my O365 account in Settings > Accounts > Access work or school Then it worked... well I say worked, also got told to go home because of my i7-5500u.

Went through something similar last year with 2 secondaries migrating their 2 individual tenancies into a new shared tenancy. Ended up using a tool called BitTitan to do most of the heavy lifting for us, took care of mailboxes, onedrives, Teams, SharePoint sites, you basically just map source to destination and it does the rest. Very slick. Had to ditch SSO though as the previous network manager though it was a good idea to create 2 separate standalone domains for both schools and call them the same thing

Had similar issues with old ActivBoards blue screening after updating laptops from 1809 to 2004. Seems Promethean are aware of this and is an issue that was introduced in 1903. Just be wary if you are upgrading from an old version to version 6. As part of this it will want to do a firmware update to the door controllers when it finds them. When a firmware update on a door controller is in progress it locks the door shut until it completes. Would suggest doing this during the holidays, or wedging them open.

Smart announced at the beginning of the year they were going to stop activation's of old versions of the software from July, although by the sounds of it they haven't actually stopped it yet... although I suspect it will be imminent.

Depends how you are PXE booting and if you use VLANs or are on a flat network. If you are using DHCP options to point clients to the boot file for PXE booting, you will need to amend the boot file location to point at the EFI boot file which is needed for UEFI as opposed to the .com file used for BIOS devices. You could go down the route of creating vendor extensions to support both but its a little over complicated, you'd be better off using IP helpers on your switches as it's a neater way of supporting both.

OK, so same response, when I asked about if it could just be enabled for staff/faculty they directed me to the feature ideas community... Based on the information I have been able to gather, the reason why users from a G Suite for Education account cannot join Meet created under a Gmail.com account is because of privacy and security reasons. This is inline with the legal policy followed by Classroom, which does not allow G Suite for Education users to join consumer (gmail.com) classes for abuse/policy reasons. Same applies to Google Meet. Accordingly to the update, it applies to both teachers and students, unfortunately.

As aside, I've just tried joining a meeting hosted by a different school who also use GSuite and that works, so seems to just be non GSuite accounts.

I'm in a queue to talk to them at the mo, we'll see if I get the same response.

Just been looking at this myself today, joining an external private gmail meet from a school managed Google account and getting the 'You are not allowed to join' message. External gmail account can join the meet setup by the school managed Google account though. Is the official line still that Google have blocked this due to privacy/terms of use concerns?

It should be in Client Settings in the administration tab. Maybe try manually running an "Application Deployment Evaluation Cycle" and "Machine Policy Evaluation Cycle" on one of the affected machines using the Configuration Manager control panel applet and see if that kicks it through, if it does these client timings are your issue.

Have you set it as an available deployment rather than required? An available deployment will sit in Unknown deployment state until a user initiates it themselves through software center. A required deployment will update deployment status by itself whenever the machine next runs its deployment evaluation cycle as defined in your client settings.
