    Thanks for the prompt response. I didn't think about the assignments, that is a great point to make. I think perhaps creating a new Teams Policy blocking private chats and calls could be the simplest method... I completely agree that it is likely the safest environment for them, compared with some harsh, unmoderated public social media platforms. Perhaps we should use this idea and release/use Yammer. As yet we have not used Yammer at all.

    Hi All, Does anyone else do this? Just had it mentioned to me in a meeting and thinking about whether it has any gravity. I think the main concern is using it as a social platform over the summer, but surely email could be this too... Interested in any other opinions! Cheers, Chris

    Hi All, I am considering moving our school away from ESET to Trend Micro Worry Free Advanced. Is anyone using Trend? For email security too? We were originally looking at email security and removal of phishing emails. But this has now progressed onto looking at anti virus as the Trend product is a bundle. Interested in experiences of the products and support to help me make my decision. For info, if we stay with Eset we will likely use Barracuda for email security and phishing protection. Thanks in advance!

    Precisely! We are in a difficult position now. We have Netgear keen to replace the whole system, but at a fairly sizable cost, as you would imagine. The alternative is to start replacing AP-LRs with AP-Pro... But with basically no support from Ubiquiti. I am between a rock and a hard place with this. Needless to say, we haven't made a decision yet. What is strange is that we can reboot the APs via SSH, running the info command returns nothing when the AP is in a disconnected state. I am pretty sure it is the AP crashing...

    If I could add my 2p worth; We have 125 APs of mixed types. We have 5 AC-Pro, they never drop off at all. AC-LR which everyday become disconnected and we SSH into them and type reboot, this always fixes it. We also have many AP-LR (old green style) these are also rock solid and never drop off. Most of our APs are powered by 24v midspans. Some others are on Ubiquiti injectors and the pros are on Aruba POE switches. We have tried various firmwares on each devices, current firmwares are below; AP-LR - 4.0.15.9872 AC-LR - 4.0.10.9653 (5 are being tested on 4.0.69.10871) AC-Pro - 4.0.10.9653 Have tried posting in the UniFi forum for advice, the only advice is to upgrade to latest firmware... This doesn't fix the drop offs from the AC-LR.

    May sound silly and don't shoot me for this, but are you applying computer and user policies via the same GPO? I am deploying both start menu and default file associations to the user and PC respectively. Although I am using 1809...

    Hi All, Does anyone how to have the OneNote app login credentials synced using UE-V? I am running Win10 Edu 1809, currently testing and trialling for this summers deployment... I have tried all sorts of things to get this working, to no avail. It seems that MS are developing this app over Office OneNote, hence why it is our preferred option... Thanks in advance. Chris

    It certainly is a dark art! I've got it working but if I make an edit to add a tile manually the import stops. Take the edited lines out and bingo it works again... Also the start menu seems to default to the "wide" view, I cannot make it be slimline without manually dragging the black in by hand. I have tried exporting the XML with different widths, but this seems to make no difference to the XML file. I can't seem to find out how to adjust the all programs list either - any suggestions? Thanks everyone for the help so far, I am very appreciative!

    Ok so, got UE-V working at last and I am adding various templates so we can store more settings. It is very fast and seems to be reliable. The Start menu is the next step. Why is it as soon as I edit the xml i export for the start menu the client (test) PC doesnt use it and I end up with a broken standard start menu on the tile side... Anyone? Thanks.

    Ha ha - I love this. I'm thinking perhaps this is best for students. What do you do with regards to the start menu? I know that this changed alot after 1709.

    Ah ok, I could be wrong here. If it works then maybe I should do this for Students. UE-V seems unreliable for me currently.

    So... I know this has been covered in numerous threads of different natures and I have read loads about profiles in Windows 10, but I cannot find a decent way of sorting for my school environment. Currently; Win 7 Students are mandatory Most Staff are Roaming some sedentary users are local profiles Everyone has redirected folders to home drives. Requirements; Win 10 1809 EDu Reliable login experience with own customisations As fast login times as possible Minimal files left on desktops (if possible) I have ruled out mandatory for Win 10 as I read this is not supported or recommended by many. Roaming profiles are an option for staff, but I fear that profile storage size will mean slow login times for them... Which brings me on to my recent trials of UE-V. I am trying UE-V with local profiles but keep hitting walls. If I login to one machine and make changes to the taskbar (as Microsoft Documentation states to do) I can login to another machine and the change stays.... Great....But if the local profile is deleted from one machine the whole thing becomes unsynced and a complete mess. Local copies of profiles are going to fill my desktops very quickly unless I clear them out, hence this test. What is the answer? Just local profiles with re-directed everything to a home drive? I am getting rather frustrated with Win10 and would welcome any advice. I need to get this ready for this Summer... time is ticking! Thanks in advance.

    Thanks. I have NTLM for domain joined PCs. But for everything else we want to use RADIUS. So Core authentication on the Smoothwall for transparent traffic from the RADIUS vlans. IDEX was a nightmare for us as it doesnt inform Smoothwall when the user logs off...

I have the following in settings; Filer-ID Security / Domain\Sec Group Framed-Protocol / PPP Service-Type / Framed Tunnel-Medium-Type / 802 Tunnel-Pvt-Group-ID / VLAN Tunnel-Type / VLAN Do you have Acct-Interim-Interval set on NPS? If so do you have UniFi Profile setup with Interim-Update set too?

    Hi All, Does anyone have this setup? UniFi / NPS / Smoothwall and RADIUS? If so do you ever get clients suddenly appear with unauthenticated requests after a short period of being connected? I am in desperate need of chatting to someone who has the same/similar setup please! Thanks in advance.

    Hi All, I wonder if anyone can shed any light on this for me (please!). We have just merged schools and I now have the lovely task of merging the networks. My school (SchoolA) is half way through a staged migration using DIRSync, I plan to finish this migration before starting any other. The other school (SchoolB) is on prem Exc 2007, with totally different domain name. I have added the domain to SchoolA's 365 account and plan to do a cutover migration shortly after the staged is finished. Once the cutover has taken place, both domains are migrating to a brand new domain which I then want to DIRSync again with the cloud having given all mailboxes a new default email address and link it all back up! Can I do this? I understand that I will have to disable sync a couple of days before this takes place. Is that it though? What process should I take to do this?? Many thanks for any response! Chris
