Anyone else having problems doing Microsoft updates on an XP machine. It either hangs for ages or gives an error code. Is this a unsubtle hint we need to retire these machines

I would recommend the Lapsafe product, well built and robust. Great cable management ability as well. not seen the lapcabby. The Unocart range is good

I will agree with the post about PFI contracts. Absolute scandal! The amount of a hospitals budget that goes to service the debt is shocking. I agree with the principal of PFI, it is just the muppets that negotiated the contracts, did not have a clue ( or cynically took a cut/directorship). The same is true of the NHS IT contract, how can you spend so much and not deliver! And no one is held to account. Look closer to home, and we have all seen small primary schools turned into academies, and by the way they need 5 servers and ....... Rant over! All parties are the same, go into politics to look after themselves!

I have tried a different PC. The original one was a NEC VL260 so put in a newer viglen.

So came to a hall projector today and it would not work. Setup is PC connects straight to vga faceplate and then a hitachi ultra short throw projector. These are the steps I have taken It works fine with a laptop connected and displays on both laptop and screen Connected the PC to a monitor and dropped the res down to 1024 x 768 ... and all worked fine Projector image is fine any ideas anyone?

Right check these things latest version of reflector, one was released on Friday, this solved the jerkyness issue i had today. On preferences, when you update you can now choose which which format. you need to choose 'iPad' are you on i0s 7

I don't want to disappoint but you are going to struggle to get windows 8 to work on a netbook. The screen resolution will not support the apps. Microsoft pulled the plug on windows 8 for them. This is one of the reasons why net books are no .onger available

Hi Jo i can recommend ones by Lapsafe, they do a Unocart model for 32 with sync and charge. they are robust, they also have a great cable management facility. This means you are not spending your life unravelling a spaghetti of cables. the trouble with some of the others is that they have not thought this through#
