  4. Support for Moodle would be great, presume is support youID supports SAML? Is there an API for creating users? If so It would be good to look at SIF integration. Is there a partner program?
  5. I use Host Switcher for Firefox which is very useful when using it with multiple sites.
  6. Is your web server running Linux or Windows?
  7. I'm trying to get in to his sifi stuff but just not getting it as I love all his other books. Great author and will be sadly missed by millions of avid fans.
  8. Shame the post has teaching responsibility, if it hadn't there would be a lot of interest from some of the folks here.
  9. Or take part in a intergalactic version of Street Countdown.
  10. He's quirky enough, but when the tardis plays up i can see the immortal words coming out, "have you tried turning it off and no again?"
  11. A spin off of Dr Who with John Hurt as the Dr with no name would be excellent. A late night replacement for torch wood that had the swearing.
  12. Benedict Cumberbatch would be great but the doubt the plots would be good enough to attract him, there is something missing since Russell T Davis left which Steve Moffat just does have when it comes to doctor who. Steve Moffat has it with Sherlock, but some of the dr who storylines are so paper thin that they must have been using the original back of the fag packet ideas as lines. David tenant was great as the doctor as the plots has 4/5 different stories running through it and across multiple series, but now it seems the cross series plot lines are an after thought and there is only one main story that run through a series.
  13. Is Aspen Mobile just rebadged GroupCall Emerge?
  14. This could be useful if you have a large campus and a lot of mobiles. Not now, Apple: We've got the Pi-Phone, the smallest mobe network ? The Register
  15. I will see if i can dig it out. Focusing on equipment cost doesn't show the real cost, this is the main reason IT budget are the first to get cut by SMT/Governors as they miss the difference. One of the best example is email, If you look at the cost of a new email server and software its about £6000 (im generalising costs here) but the true cost is much higher £12,000 as it relies on network infrastructure, client desktops, client software being in place . A finance manager would happier set aside £4000 pa to run email over spending £6000+ once every 3 years, as one off costs are harder to budget for.
  16. I have written a few development plans but they haven't been less that 6 years long as this allow you ask for a fixed amount every year and carry money forward to pay for large items like network switches and servers. Another tip would be to focus it around services rather than bits of equipment as this is easier for SMT to understand.
  17. @MattMitchell have covered pretty much everything but there is one caveat to the link between group and student mark, its not 100% correct from a data analysis perceptive as the grade could have been entered while being a member of a different group and/or entered by a different teacher, all you can say it the student achieved the grades at a given point in time which is current a member of a given group.
  18. As @secretlife says email is a required field so needs to be mapped to the mail field in AD. This will import the users email address from AD as long as it has been entered there, if not it will still prompt for one. If the email address isn't store in AD then you can selected unlocked if empty for the email field and the users is able to enter one. Country is a required field as well and if it hasn't been set it will prompt for one.
  19. Which database are you running? as you can create a sql statement that can the categories and courses.
  20. If you are unable to have port 636 opened to a defined IP address, you could look at using something like ssoeasy which would create a indirect link to ldap over port 443.
  21. You could always take a backup of you database and the use Visio to create the entity relationship diagram from it.
  22. I would check the permissions of the moodle data folder, if it can't write sessions data then it would give you your session has timed out.
  23. Organic Bacon from you local butcher/pig farmer is the way to go. I don't see the French, Italian and Dane's having this issue as they eat fresh produce, better ban the likes of tesco, morrison, asda and support independent butchers, grocers and fish mongers! I will be trudging through the snow to get me a sweet potatoe and bacon
  24. Sims2ad is a blast from the past, can't believe I wrote that 5 years ago.
  25. @PhilNeal I would still class it as SIF. Yes you have implemented a message broker to handle multiple providers (schools) within the same zones but it use the same data model and infrastructure specification as other implementations.
