  1. I haven't used either but can recommend an alternative. TimeTabler
  2. @bantonia Just so you know Ron is the CTO of the SIF Association.
  3. They were good but can't stand that a third of the semi finalises are singers, they have the xfactor for that so should bar all pop singers/groups entering.
  4. AFAIK a large part of WH SMITH income is from distribution of newspapers/magazines to other retailers.
  5. They are exempt as they are technically in the palace of westminister, all royal palaces are exempt from most legislation along with embassies.
  6. I have had an update from the IT Skills Academy detailing when their introductory offer will end.
  7. One thing to take into account is SIF is asynchronous, you will send a SIF message requesting an object (LearnerPersonal for example) you will need to loop sending SIF_GetMessage to see if the SIF Data object has been returned, then you will be able to react to the data you receive. Due to the asynchronous nature you dont know how long it will be before the data is returned.
  8. I can see the used plane advert, Plane for Sale 1 careful owner, custom modification to increase passenger views may require new mot £ OFFERS
  9. I do have the files available in a zip. It would be a single jar and the example files. You are a glutton for punishment if you want to write your own libraries to handle SIF messages. I would strongly recommend the adk as the complexity of SIF at the transport layer is going to slow the process down. We are looking at making a zones available for developers that will have access to different MIS. Will update when I have more information.
  10. @CyberNerd Did you come across this when you were running a Zimbra server?
  11. @bantonia If you are looking at creating transport layer messages have a look at https://launchpad.net/open-adk-java This is an open source develop kit to speed up agent production.
  12. When you place a bet with a bookie for the irish lottery, you are just betting against fixed odds and not taking part in the actual lottery. You are only able to pick up to 5 numbers instead of 6. You do get better odds on fewer numbers but a worst return if you pick all 5 numbers and they came up.
  13. SIF_Message is the transportation layer schema, it covers how the sif agent talks to the zis. The Data Model schema governs what data can be sent.

    Travel

If you get a ticket that covers your whole journey without breaks the tube is included. I would have a look at singles to London and get a oyster card if you going to be in London more that twice a year. If oyster doesnt cover your final leg to your destination then look at singles, It's more bits of paper but can save lots of money!
  15. It would be better to use 1.2 as its the version that has been implemented in the real world. The open-adk project needs to catch up as that only supports 1.2. The adk or agent development kit has been used by most suppliers to support Sif in their application.
  16. @bantonia I have had a reply back from the SIF association about the documentation query. It was a case of the text being missed and not updated before being release and its now being updated. Many thanks for spotting this. The section will now read. The two transport layers are covered in the following documentations. SIF Global Infrastructure Implementation Specification 2.5 = Classic HTTP Transport SIF Global Web Services Implementation Specification 2.5 = SOAP Transport The WSDL is included in the Developer Toolkit http://specification.sifassociation.org/Global/2.5/ws/SIFv2.5WebServiceDeveloperKit-3.zip and http://specification.sifassociation.org/Global/2.5/ws/SIF_ws2p5.pdf
  17. Lager in the country is awful, Czech lager is so much better, naturally brewed and no hangover.
  18. I have put a request in the the SIF association for clarification on the documentation. I believe SOAP and WSDL could be covered under the SIF Global Web Services Implementation Specification 2.5 and SIF Global Web Services Implementation 2.5 Developer’s Toolkit. Once I have an answer I will post it here.
  19. It would mainly be the memberships changing but the timetable changes if you move the lesson to a different period or change room or teacher.
  20. Wasn't it in XXX (Vin Diesel film) they had a dig a james bond, at the beginning of the film an agent tries to hide out in a ramstien (not sure of the band) concert in a tux.
  21. @bantonia Which document are you reading as SIF has support for SOAP and WSDL? I believe it was added in 2.4 or 2.5 of the infrastructure specification. I will double check. We support the OpenZIS project in the UK and are currently using OpenZIS, what issues are you facing? OpenZIS only support the classic HTTP infterface and not SOAP. We work closely with Chris Whitley the original developer, development has slowed recently as Chris is contracted else where. I disagree, use of the standard is not dependant on the end product being open source. The cost/benefit trade off needs to be in the interest of the supplier so they choose to adopt SIF. If its not then irrespective of the products being open sourced supplier wont adopt it. If you are developing for multiple MIS and require writeback then SIF is the only viable option to save money as you dont need to partner with all the MIS suppliers.
  22. All three of those events warrant it being a bank holiday. Now where my pen to sign this e-petition
  23. Capita are involved with the SIF UK Technical Board and Partnership Exchange uses SIF to move data between consortia schools/academies and there are third party application that can SIF enable SIMS.net. Is your agent to link Moodle and SIMS going to use SIF or interface with command reporter directly?
  24. There are 2 ways for encoding audio on BigBlueButton, each with its own benefits but can get out of sync when under load. it is possible to offload the audio to a 2nd server which will improve things as the handling of multi audio streams consumes the CPU, which would be under high load already handling the multiple video streams on a single server.
  25. @glennda Thanks for the signpost. @Finch7 has been in touch.
