When was the last time you looked at SIF? A lot has changed with the release of SIF 3.0. Its now REST based and very straight forward to get data. Have a look at the sand box here (SIF REST API) It has, its called the ISB Business Data Architecture and will eventually cover data items for every data collection. It's not a long way off, as SIF is doing this type of thing now with suppliers that are SIF enabled. Currently about 40% of England & Wales have SIF 2.X implementations. As more MIS providers are entering the market a common api will be very important for vendors (cashless catering, library etc) wishing to integrate, as the cost to maintain 5+ different apis is going to be huge.

Has anyone embarked on the challenge of converting a DAT Tapes to MP3 or WAV? My father-in-laws DAT player has pretty much died and a replacement options are limited. I have done a bit of research and it look to be DDS Backup drive can handle the same tapes as long as it has audio mode enabled in the firm ware. (This mainly allows dubbing at 4x real time). As he has 100's of them this would be a time saver. I am aware some sony and conner dds drive have the required features but were is the best to get one? I'm wary of ebay given the quality and high probability of a dud turning up. Does anyone have a similar setup working?

I'm a massive fan, but that episode could have been so much better, an 1.15 wasn't long enough. Steve Moffat does seem to only write storylines that have a back story of 3 episodes. Russell T Davis would have been writing parts of this story line in over a number of series.
