  1. Well that's easy then; the mask to achieve that is 0077, not 0022. The reason you don't think it's working is that you're not actually changing the mask in your tests. From pam_mkhomedir(8):
  2. You've described what you've done and that it doesn't do what you expect, but you haven't said what you're trying to achieve. What mode are you trying to get on that directory?
  3. I use a Filco Majestouch2 with blank caps so that the print doesn't wear away.
  4. If the place is furnished and the mattress is dead shouldn't your landlord be replacing it?
  5. ”Best” is a strong word. The danger with reservations is that if DHCP is unavailable for some reason at renewal, you risk ending up with APIPA addresses on devices, and *nobody* enjoys untangling that mess.
  6. Only for the bare URI, no pages or other assets. You don't need a second virtualhost either. Better: ServerName mysite.co.uk ServerAlias www.mysite.co.uk RewriteEngine on RewriteCond "%{HTTP_HOST}" "!^www\.mysite\.co\.uk" [NC] RewriteCond "%{HTTP_HOST}" "!^$" RewriteRule "^/?(.*)" "http://www.mysite.co.uk/$1" [L,R=301]
  7. Gparted doesn't presume to know what your plans for the space are.
  8. Seriously, how this can this still be a thing in almost 2019? I just went through password reset and appallingly, all the generated links are http and none of the reset or login pages redirected to https. Please say Santa is finally fixing this over this holiday season?
  9. OP already said gparted shows the resized volume. Sounds more like the missing step is resizing the filesystem, try resize2fs (or xfs_grow if it's an xfs filesystem).
  10. This just reminds me how glad I am to be out of that crazy world.
  11. If you're only doing mirrors, mdraid is fine.
  12. You need the unofficial CD with non free firmware. The installer is seeing plain disks and installing onto them, not through the raid device.
  13. U.S. citizens only
  14. That's now a myth as long as it's done properly.
  15. If you'll pardon the brevity: why?
  16. You need the matching debconf package (right version, architecture, etc) from packages.debian.org and use dpkg -i to overall it. (If you don't even have dpkg available, you're stuffed and that system is designed broken.)
  17. I design, build, monitor and maintain highly available, highly redundant, can-never-be-down Linux systems for clients in biomedical, engineering, research and other sectors. We've done e.g. geo-redundant SANs, parallel compute clusters, n-way routers - everything's bespoke.
  18. Couldn't the SSL phase be offloaded to a proxy so vbulletin doesn't even need to care?
  19. You could also try AAISP 3D printing services
  20. Any decent controller will import the settings back off the disks again when they are reconnected. If it didn't, you wouldn't be able to replace the controller in case of hardware failure.
  21. Start by establishing requirements, not dreaming up solutions.
  22. Not directly, but you haven't said what you've done and what doesn't work...
  23. LVM. Start the volumes small and grow them as needed, much easier than trying to shrink stuff later.
  24. Hmm. Slotting blocks together without understanding what they do or how they work has never seemed a good way to learn to be. You really don't need S3 or Heroku for this. The Django project's own documentation and tutorials really are excellent though: https://docs.djangoproject.com/en/1.8/
  25. No. Django though, yes.
