Hello All, I am probably just pipe dreaming but i have been thinking and like the idea of introducing something new and cool to our university. I want to bring something to the university that they either can't do or don't have but that can have a big impact. Just wondering if any of you have introduced something you would class as revolutionary at your university that made a difference to teaching and learning. Interested to hear what other people have done or are doing. Cheers

I think it will be a great idea if each one of us shares his/her experience on the open source products he/she uses (in his/her school / university). In our case, we use GLPI (as a Helpdesk tool) and Xibo (as a Digital Signage tool) and we are very satisfied with it. Thank you

Hi IT Geeks, I'm a newbie in NComputing , and over the next few weeks I'm going to setting up a test server ( we have a ESXI plateform) and a few old PC's acting as thin clients . If the results are good wewill try and implement it properly. I've a few questions that hopefully some of you may have an opinion on: * Do you have any interresting presentation that i can present to our top management, describing the benifits of NComputing vs Traditionnal PCs ? * Do you have any guide/documentation to help me implementing the test lab ? * As we he had already ESXI plateform ( Servers & Licenses) , what we need exaclty to implement Ncomputing except thin clients (Just to evaluate the budget)? * Eventually we will replace the old PCs with actual thin client machines... any vendor recommendations (HP,Dell,L350...)? Hi IT Geeks, Please we are implementing GLPI/OCS in our institution , and i need your feedback relative to these open source apps . Do you think it's a good tool for Asset Management ( PCs , Printers , Network Device , Peripheral...) ? Do you think it's a good tool for ticketing ? Except Asset Management & ticketing , what could we do with GLPI ? and the most important thing is could we implement ITIL process through GLPI ? All answers / feedbacks are more than welcome. Hello IT Geeks, I've uploaded successfully a signed certificate from StartSSL to our Zonedirectors. and now the warning of https authentification page has disapeared. In our institution we have 3 SSID , the first is for our students ( this one reach our dns , so able to resolve the FQDN of our Zonedirector successfully) , the problem is with the 2 others SSID (For Guests : They use a public dns, so cannot resolve the FQDN :s). Could help me with that please.
