  1. Thanks guys
  2. There are a few ways to do it: 1. Point the "www" A record of the .sch.uk domain to point to the web servers IP address. 2. Setup all the DNS records for the domain (i.e. email DNS records, as most schools host it in-house) and get the domain registrar to point the domains nameservers on the domain to the new host. 3. Use a completely new domain and use some re-direction code (like kearton provided) to re-direct the sch.uk domain to the new domain. Most schools we host go with option 2.
  3. Apparently it's a core switch failure, nice to see Fasthosts have redundancy.
  4. We use Voipfone, currently using the Snom 300: Voipfone - Plug & Go Product Listing
  5. All our backup data is held in the UK, in a secure data centre. With backup servers protected by both software and hardware firewalls with connections only allowed to our backup servers from the IPs we have in an allow list.
  6. Surely having such a big client, they are willing to pay a premium for a server or even multiple servers for such a busy website?
  7. Unfortunately not, you would need a dedicated IP for each domain (£3 per month or £20.50 per year) discounts available for multiple IPs. You can use your own SSL Certificate purchased from elsewhere, or purchase one from us: http://csnewmedia.co.uk/addons/ssl.asp
  8. I guess our proposal was too expensive for you Ryan. Bandwidth and power isn't cheap, if you want backups you will need a fully managed server. I'd be very careful with any company offering fully managed server under < £300 a month.
  9. Thanks John, glad you are pleased.
  10. Thank you Feel free to take a look at the link in my signature.
  11. I'd very careful with your choice of name, we use Kayako SupportSuite who are leaders in the Helpdesk software and I don't think they would be very happy with you calling your Helpdesk Support Suite.
  12. We run Apache on Linux Servers and IIS6 on our Windows Servers.
