  1. Am I right in assuming this beast (the folder) can't be permanently deleted if I have disabled this feature for all users in Office 365? It will only cause confusion if it still appears in the users outlook (we use both webmail and Outlook)
  2. Could be they guessed the password, a few good questions and a weak password.

  8. Just want to see what my peers have experienced or thought about. As ever the sales people are very pushey and make massive claims. Always spouting off about the educational establishments that use it but they all seem to be FE/HE based, no schools.

  11. Because times and mindsets have changed and things like this go onto the net via social media?

  13. Many thanks for the tips, in the end it was TCP and a port added to the connect.ini
  14. Can't try any of these out yet as it works on the test network but not live, will give it a go 'live' tonight with these suggestions.
  15. The SIMS client works fine on the server on the test rig or live on the Domain. Its just the workstations that get the error. If I re install SIMS on the workstation and create the connect.ini via the setup (that should be correct?) they still get the error. No firewall. SQL service is working because it works on the test network. Got to be something looking at me in the face
  16. Hi, build new 2012R2 server with SQL2012, Successfully migrated database. Tested install on its own standalone network, Server and a couple of PC. No problem the PC’s accessing SIMS on the server. Closed down old server and added new server to the domain. Think I have replicated the permissions for the SIMS share. Change login script to point at new server and changed local connect.ini (as a redirect to s:) with the connect.ini on the server beineg servername\instance + database name PC tries to connect and gets sims connection failed for reason 0 OK I can see the wood for the trees 
  17. Today I had Broccoli soup followed by Greek Spanakopita, Oregano Potatoes and mixec feta and olive salad!!!!
  18. In a Grammar School!!!
  19. Started out in a Grammar, moved to state (OMG culture shock), now back in a specialist private school. TBH i've loved them all and call me a fool but miss some of the more interesting pupil behaviour! Beleive!!!!
  20. Sorted, I killed the server, re built and this time it decided it was happy with the logins/passwords.
  21. Hi, sorry if this has been resolved elsewhere but I need a quick answer. Replacing SIMS server, same instance and SQL version. I do the following: run this follwoing command on the SQL server sqlcmd -S%SERVERNAME%\%SQLINSTANCE% -Usa -P%SAPASSWORD% -Q"exec SIMS.sims.db_p_transfer_login" replacing the variables between (and including) the percentage signs with the ones appropreate for your school. then run the DBdetatched utility and copy the sims.mdf and sims.ldf to the new server. Run dbattatch utility but when I run sims I get invalid user/password What have I failed to do? Bet its real simple (i hope)
