OK hold my hands up and head down in shame. During the summer I removed an aged 2003 DC and created a new 2012 DC as well as uplifted my domain level and all that jazz. Only problem is that I forgot about our Moodle Server and its LDAP authentication to our AD and now no one can log in to Moodle as it is looking for the old DC (DC01) which no longer exists. Is there a way of getting into the back end of Moodle or its config files to change where it is looking for AD authentication? We don't seem to have a local admin for Moodle either. I'm thinking that if I can't somehow get into the back end or config's then i'll have to create another DC and use the old name.

Hi, what do people do about staff who have left email accounts in case they have kept an important message/document in their email. Senior staff here seem to use email as a filing system and our head is about to leave and I just know that someone will need something from their email account. Any advice on best practice (disable and keep, archiving or anything else?)

Hi, anyone know of a company who can do a moodle migration from Windows Server 2003 to a more up to date version? Or is it easy? Cheers

OK I know how to subnet but is there an easy way to answer this question in exam situation (I will provide the answer so that you don't think I'm after one) Q. Class B IPv4 network 150.150.0.0 create a subnet mask for 600 subnets A. 255.255.255.192 = 64 hosts 62 usable Q Identify the 312th subnet (where subnet 0 is used) A. 150.150.78.0 Is there a quick method of calculating the 312th subnet, I did it by long hand but in an exam you don't have the time Cheers

yes a proper walking/outdoor shop should have a fitting service and test ramp so that you can check that the shoes/boots fit and don't slip or rub. Maybe a good idea if as you say they have a foot problem. Of course you may have to pay a bit more!

Hi, I've got a very annoying apparently random error in some of my IT rooms. Two supposedly identical PC's, student A logs onto PC A and gets all of their mapped drives. Student A then logs onto PC B get all of their mapped drives but cannot access their my documents (mapped drive). Student B gets all drive mappings and access on both PC A and PC B. Anybody got any trouble shooting ideas? So far I've deleted all local profiles, removed PC from the Domain then added it again, forced GP update, disabled AV (and re enabled). Not looked at Event viewer in detail yet. This happens on a number f PC's

OK done that (see attatched) and the user has the access shown for their user account on the folder and the workstation that their desktop does not load on. Its the desktop working on PC's that they have used pre RoboCopy and not working on new ones after that is puzzeling me.

Hi, Not sure how to explain this one but I’ll give it a go. In the summer we had to robo copy a Server 2000 file server onto 2012 as we couldn’t P2V it during a VM project. We have roaming profiles but don’t do a lot of roaming so didn’t spot this problem until last week. If a user logs onto their usual PC or one that they have used in the past they get their desktop no problem and can add or delete items from it and they move between PC’s. BUT if they log onto a PC that they have never used before then they do not get their desktop. This problem screams permissions at me but where to start and what are the permissions.

OK AP upgrade could be one answer as have a mix of 7363 (end of line) and R600. 300 boarders all wanting to stream media, Skype home and otherwise hammer the internet.
