  1. Missions on BBC I-Player, French Sci Fi Drama with sub titles but found the first couple of episodes to be excellent.
  2. You know when you work in a posh school when the head is called the high master, deputies are surmasters and the SBM is the receiver (confused the hell out of me as I thought the place was in receivership!!!!)
  3. Not Lenovo's are they? I have it quite often with my older Lenovo's, an unplug and walk to the office usually does the job.
  4. They are a problem full stop. Most only come in once a month or so for an few hours to give specialist tuition and they are difficult to nail down. Think I'll have to trace a few messages. To these people things like GDPR and Safeguarding have no meaning. They're at the top of their profession (music) and act accordingly. Even the management have trouble keeping them in order.
  5. No nothing setup which is confusing the heck out of me. My only thought is that this has been done through desktop outlook and its not replicated up to the EAC if that's possible?
  6. What is the users in the past setup forwarding via desktop outlook?
  7. Historically part time tutors when they had school email accounts setup had them forwarded to personal accounts. In the light of safeguarding and GDPR we want to change this. In exchange online when I use either of these commands I don't see any forwarded email address's Get-Mailbox | FL DeliverToMailboxAndForward,ForwardingAddress,ForwardingSmtpAddress Get-Mailbox -ResultSize Unlimited | Where {($_.ForwardingAddress -ne $Null) -or ($_.ForwardingsmtpAddress -ne $Null)} | Select Name, ForwardingAddress, ForwardingsmtpAddress, DeliverToMailboxAndForward My problem is that I have tested a couple of address's that I know are being forwarded and the email to the school account ends up in the private account. I've double checked the GUI and even had the tutor log on to webmail in front of me and there is no forwarding set up. Confused
  8. Stupid question but have to ask. If I block staff from sending to our student distribution group they will be able to still send to individual students?
  9. At the church nativity singing the first Noel "Novell Novell" came to mind
  10. Our Swipe cards have staff/pupil name, photo and school address. If one is lost does this constitute a breach? I'm thinking we should drop the photo?
  11. The Girls Can Flirt And Other Queer Things Can Do - Mohs Hardness scale learn't 40 years ago!!!!!! Talc, Gypsum, Calcite, flourite, apitiate, orthoclase, quartz, topaz, cornundum, diamond (spellings not unfortunately)

  16. Apparently there spending more (according to a preview clip on youtube) thought S1 was average but then I suppose its up against GOT. S2 is fresh material by the writers with TB's blessing.
  17. many thanks, Edugeek and Google filling the gaps
  18. Hi, situation: pupil has left school under a cloud and no one told me so their account is/was live. They have sent a mildly offensive email to all pupils via a distributions list. Can anyone help: Is there a way of deleting said message from exchange online that someone knows? Off to google
  19. We had them in a previous school pointed at the sinks and hand dryers so that SMT could look at footage for that area only. I had to show a new SMT member how to view the system, logged onto a camera just as a pupil was about to spray paint it - bingo!!!
  20. Kids have wrecked both front and rear ports on music PC's can anyone recommend a replacement low profile PCI soundcard? Also anyone using usb music keyboards, can you get ones with headphone ports so that kids doing composition on Sibelius can plug direct into keyboard rather than PC. Cheers
  21. Against my better judgment but could have been worse, it could have been openhive VLE's the great experiment that failed?
  22. quick update, all I needed to do was create a server with the old name, didn't need to be a DC or anything and its now working. Now all I need to do is change the entries on Moodle to reflect the new setup and remove the new 'old' server. Thanks for all the advice guys, the best thing is only one person has raised this as an issue and only because they were using it to store files rather than as a teaching resource. Time to look at getting rid?
  23. Thanks for your really helpful post i'm so proud to be fleecing parents with my awful WiFi provision - in a small area of the campus that is medieval in construction. I'll replace my 200Mb fibre connection with your Dandy 30Mb one and see it fly. You obviously have a limited knowledge of schools finance, public or private where a very large % of Monies is spent on salaries and buildings. FYI most of our pupils are on assisted places so our fee's are capped but our staffing costs remain the same as any other establishment. I didn't go into details of our setup because my questions was does the rogue devices feature in Ruckus stop the boosters from functioning. No our setup isn't open and devices have to authenticate to connect. The biggest problem is infrastructure to some areas and demand, most pupils run between 3 to 5 WiFi enables devices at a time, often in a room shared by 4 pupils. I'm going to have to get some AP's into these areas and connect them through meshing as the cabling doesn't provide the QOS for the AP's to function properly but it may surprise you that money is also an issue in the private sector, the only 'wanting' i've been doing is getting the funds available to improve the infrastructure.
  24. Hi, boarding school here, we have Ruckus WiFi and the pupils have complained in the past of dead spots in one of the boarding houses. The maintenance staff have just reported finding a couple of Netgear WiFi extenders plugged into the mains on a corridor. The MAC address of the devices shows up on my rogue Devices list and I have already marked as malicious. My question is will this stop the devices from extending the WiFi for the kids? or am I going to have to do something else to disable the devices.
  25. 2.2.11 I think
