  1. I would magic up really large clue bat that could be used gratuiosly without me getting the sack
  2. I am a developer on IRM, it works for us here, I recently added a cool page, that allows me to have a 19" monitor mounted on the wall showing priority helpdesk calls.
  3. You've set the limits in moodle, but are there any limits on your webserver, we had to modify some apache settings here.
  4. Should be possible, it'd be just like connecting two CMIS admin clients. As long as you had a dataserver on each eportal server, although it might even be possible to connect both instances of eportal to a single dataserver as well. They just connect to the sql db as a client. You would have to make sure that both got upgraded when ever there is an update.
  5. I'm interested in the FITS compliant claim, in what ways is this FITS compliant ?
  6. Not really needing the recable, but decent switches are a must.

  8. Yup it's a scary thought isn't it.
  9. If you mean APPEVENTID in the APPAPPSFIELDS table. Each occuring event is given an individual ID If an event has more than one field assigned to it then each field is stored in a seperate row in the APPAPPFIELDS table, and the event is identified by the APPEVENTID. Or so I believe.........
  10. Has anyone tried using the single sign on with Serco ePortal and RM CC3. Serco want you to extend the AD schema, with an ldf file they supply. Anyone have any experience of this ? Regards Budgester.
  11. Well here is some fun code that I have been hacking around with in php. It reads assesment data from the KS3, KS4 Assesment framework. It should be relatively safe to use, as at the moment it only does database reads, no updates or drops etc. This is not release quality, but if enough people are interested it could be built into a community project. License is GPL 2 edit the config.php file with the connection details for your database. Regards Budgester chace-mis.tar.gz
  12. Hey someone has to..... Have the good drugs. Get the free love. Save the planet. Not wear a tie. So i'll put my hand up as a Linux loving hippie.
  13. I'm waiting for the time that the kids all use there own thin client terminals. What am I talking about ? Well with the processing power of mobile phones going up at a rate of knots how long will it take before we can bluetooth sync with a monitor/network/keyboard ? Now thats what I want to see...
  14. Must have some real nice kids there, that don't damage the hardware.
  15. Also be aware that eportal will not run on IIS if 64bit windows is used. You will have to go direct to the tomcat server.
  16. My thinking is get a much bandwidth as close to the user as possible. Other wise you have 30 PC's in a classroom each with 100meg connection to this switch which then, so at full capacity you could be looking a 3gig, bloody unlikely but possible. Work out where your bottlenecks are. What cards do you have in the servers ? If thet are only 100 then this will likely get swamped. So upgrade to gig cards, and aggregate them if you have mulitple cards. For instance we have 4 ICT suites going back to one cabinet, this cabinet is linked back to our core with 8 fibre cores, (so 4 links) we trunk 3 of these links together and have the other one as stp failover. This gives us a 3gig backbone back to the core. At the core we have 2 * 5400zl so the 3gig goes into 1, then the 1gig goes into the other, so we always have a route. Let me know if you want a copy of our network design, as the .vsd extension is not allowed on edugeek.
  17. HP do a design service, check the website out. They then refer you to a local partner. Thats what we did and it saved a lot of grief.
  18. On of my friend who used to run a pub would put vaseline on the top of the toilet cysterns. Apparently really used to piss people of who tried to do lines of coke of them.

I'm possibly up for it, we are an RM school here.
  21. Could be done with an AutiIT script
  22. Demand that space for the rack mount, Once you have the rack in then you can pile all your servers, ups, etc into a very small foot print.
  23. Any one got a client CC3 package for OCS-NG ?
  24. Thanks for that information. I see a bit more technical reading coming my way.
  25. I have a legacy Netware 5 server here which is used by the finance dept and the bursar. The whole disk is allocated the to sys volume, and there is a ton of files and directories on there. Am I right in thinking that any files and folders on this disk will have supervisor inherited rights ? And this can be changed.
