Spirited (Apple TV+) Basically "A Christmas Carol" the full-on musical meets (no) "Monsters Inc" as the disillusioned Ghost of Christmas Present (Will Ferrel) tries to turn around scumbag media consultant Clint Briggs (Ryan Reynolds). The trailer does show that there will be a song and dance number or two, but this is a "proper" musical with a song (and usually dance) number every few minutes. Quite fun but whilst there is some OK choreography the songs are eminently forgettable. If you have Apple TV+ maybe worth a look if you fancy a predictable Xmas musical, but not worth subscribing to see and if you go for the free trial there are better things to binge.

Please can you PM me your email address so that I can send you the bill for psychological damage to our cat, who didn't know what was going on, as well as potential damage to two remotes, and cleaning of a cushion, my T shirt and dressing gown, all of which got drenched when I literally spat out the mouthful of cider I had when the "cat" was about to paw the ginger lad . Loved it! Second ep not quite as sharp, but pretty darn good.

Thanks folks. I had already started my email with by saying it's possible, but they might want to bear a few things in mind.

Just had the above request. My first thought was, "No way!" but is this just a knee jerk reaction? The request is for all devices OR "just one", so I'm assuming it's a sweetener for a challenging child. I think that if it was on all, they can forget about any work being done on the pads. Just one? I can see child getting angry that they can't perform any micro-transactions, potentially leading to damage, and isn't this one of those "wander around" games - so they'll be wanting to roam at will. It also means that that pad will be unavailable for anyone else to use as we don't have the resources for 1-2-1. Also: Or is this just cya for those who may stray out of Wi-Fi range? Any thoughts?

I'm thinking a lot of it is from watching too many American shows/movies as they never draw the curtains. cf "Shutting down" your laptop by closing the lid.

No, but it's good to know that it's not just our lot!

Pedro Pascal is due to be hosting SNL soon.

Had a productive Zoom session with Mosyle yesterday and managed to get one pad set up (ish) fairly quickly. "Ish" because the pad would recognise it was supposed to be set up by Mosyle, but not finish properly. Hotspotting to my phone proved it was a firewall/filter problem but I thought O2 might object to huge amounts of data being used to set up a bunch of iPads and had to disconnect. Change requests filed, and the long wait has begun. Oddly today they won't even recognise that without hotspotting. Ironically, sending a "wipe" command to the pads from Lightspeed seems to be the one thing that works swiftly! Oh, and hotspotting a "Lightspeed" machine didn't seem to help with the other problems.

They probably also don't approve of things that "started with a kiss, in the back row of the classroom". -

Could be the first time they've searched for hot chocolate. -
Anyone who has yet to watch episode 3 of "The Last of Us" should be aware that it seems to be being broadcast in some sort of experimental "Spore-O-Vision" that has caused eye irritation and other reactions in some viewers.
-
Possibly, but if there's one thing as bad as dealing with iPads, it's dealing with the LA about such things!

Annie Wersching, who played the Borg Queen in "Picard", Renee Walker in "24" and was Tess in "The Last of Us" (game) has passed away from cancer. She was only 45.

Three Thousand Years of Longing (Rental) Trailer NSFW and really misrepresents the movie, which isn't as "mad" or frenetic as it makes out. A scholar (Tilda Swinton) buys a glass bottle that turns out to contain a genie (Idris Elba). She realises the potential dangers in claiming her three wishes, so he tells her his story. Stunningly shot (though I did keep feeling that that Tarsem Singh would have been even better for the tale, which bears thematic similarities to his "The Fall") but never lives up to the title. It is one of those films that will have you thinking about it afterwards, though, as there are hints that the genie may be telling a different tale, or that maybe something else is going on. On the whole, I'd say wait for it to be free on whatever service you have access to if you want to see it.

I've found all the Star Wars shows far too sedate to be "Star Wars" for my liking .

@mikeprice: I'd say ditch it. If you're not using the delivery and not finding much to watch, what's the point. I you find that there's something you really want to see (Rings of Power Season 2?), wait until they try to tempt you back with a free month and use it to catch up. Out of the "Big Three" we use Netflix by far the most, then Disney (paid for by Tesco vouchers), then Amazon. P.S. Have you tried Jack Reacher?

Might look at Jamf if Mosyle doesn't work. So far, Mosyle gets a thumbs up for doing something as simple as listing apps alphabetically! Thought I'd best wait until on site to get the other deets: 14 UniFi AP-AC v2, all but one at full speed, with a (wired) speed test showing Yep, the points aren't new but until they affect everything, no-one will get them replaced - and all the laptops and chromebooks don't have these problems.

NSFW. In true stereotyped "drug dealer" fashion, Sky/HBO are making the first ep free to get you hooked. It's on YouTube in the UK. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kzGMFpLIcyE

Cost of living crisis 2022 - what have you cut back on?

Looks very similar to mine (but mine has a QI side with leads that push flat so the torch is on the end). Maybe I've got a duff one. Going back to beauty, as if on cue: -
My reliable source says that he is soon to get a promotion to Sandford, Gloucestershire.

Me too. I find that charging in the car going to/from work usually keeps my phone reasonably well topped up and have a solar battery pack on the windowsill near "my" seat at night if I need it, but the solar efficiency is a bit pants and it takes forever to charge the pack from the mains if it discharges. -

I clicked on something on Groupon as I wondered what it meant and continually get hair/nail/pamper/spa etc offers now. -

Not at Château LeMarchand! Mme LeMarchand is naturally beautiful and has her hair tidied maybe once a year. That's only "expensive" because ladies' cuts always are compared to men's. Never goes to the beautician or nail salon. I haven't had a haircut since Lockdown 1.
