    Education. Its all about rapid release. The image never stays static. Changes every month. Its the way SCCM is going as well. The main concern is poorly designed legacy software.

    Run the network installer create a deployment. Put the deployment somewhere where your users have read access. You have to deploy via script or sccm. Its a setup.exe that runs various MSIs.

    Why don't you go to IE11. Security updates will be stopped after Jan 2016 for ie 9 and 10.

    If you can setup sccm I would avoid GPO deployment. It's too restrictive and you don't get much in the way of reporting. Because most software is at the system level when using GPO is has to be targeted at the PC. You also have to make sure any prerequisites are already installed.
