I'd like it to be available. A policy somewhere is breaking it.
I know the registry to make it open Computer rather than Quick Access.
The thing I don't understand is Microsoft seem to want to offer Office 365 for staff and students for free. Its so tied to onedrive so would it not make sense for onedrive to function as a folder which lists your files. Doesn't sync down unless you need the fileor upload a new/changed one.
You could Deny "C:\Windows\CCM\ClientUX\SCClient.exe" if you are using the new software center. or c:\windows\ccm\scclient.exe if using the old silverlight one. You just need to do it for your student ad group. It shouldn't interfere with required deployments. Though always test before pushing out settings.

If you don't already I reckon we will be required to put mitm cert on personal devices. You would think most schools/colleges would block extremist sites. Most likely though use of these sites would be via tor at home.
I managed it the system model was set to To be Set by OEM. Other than that going for the motherboard model was the best way of controlling the drivers. One model had to have the USB 3.0 drivers installed by exe. One model causes an error due to the hash check of the image. So not great experience though it can be done.
Yes and make sure c:\users\public\whatever has modify access for users. You have to define the proxy in a text file. Its not the worst exams software. Its supported on x64 and doesn't require admin rights.
