There's always click View or planet estream which is better. You don't have to worry when physical media breaks. Education isn't Microsoft main market.

It's probably because in business you buy per user per month/year. But because in education we have so many shared devices and not 1:1. This seems to be the general trend to move to a per user 1:1 model.

I'd avoid 2019 versions due t the licensing changes. But also its a 1.0 product. Like installing 1809 on day one.

I think it hits the wider question of. Are we preparing students for the real working world? If the necessary budgets are not in place are we really preparing students for the real world?

Weel the question you have to ask is. Do you really need the 2019 versions right now? More than likely more educational organisations will wait until summer 2019. Hopefully the new solution will be in place in time for the Summer. It would be good if Adobe CC could just sync and provision users and devices from AzureAD. The current user sync took me 2 months to get working well. Its a python script. If the 2 device limit was lifted for devices behind your public IP/domain joined devices the user licensing would work. This is possible using conditional access.

Yes there is a device based named licensing coming for lab environments. It sounds like setting up a sync of PCs that have CC apps installed on them up to CC. Named user licensing will only work if you have 1:1 devices. Only 2 activations per user. I'd stick with 2018 versions until the new device licensing is in place. Has your reseller not communicated these changes?

Could you not have an isolated vlan with standalone win10. The big issue Is authentication if Internet access is required. You could use 802.1x and radius or a capture page from your filter.

Are these the 2018 releases? The packager tool should allow serial licence. If you get a permissions issue when testing as a standard user. You can use procmon to see what's causing it.

I think with Windows 10 is makes sense as a lot of the issues with updates can be due to 3rd party AV. It does look like Microsoft are focusing on Windows Defender ATP with leverages telemetry, but is only avaliable on Microsoft 365 E5. Though you can mange it without SCCM, you could forward events to a server and then powershell an email alert. You can add the definitions to WSUS. You need to get group policy right otherwise the clients will go straight to Microsoft. Though these days I don't know how anyone can survive without SCCM.
