  1. I still don't understand why vendors can't create a utility on the PC/Laptop to control the projector/screen. Then remotes wouldn't be a issue.
  2. I would like a cut of date of say end of May. I use an image for games design as Unreal Engine is large (20gb). But updates are asked for mid year. In terms of network bandwidth, I try and push software out at night. The issue with imaging is that the image gets stale very quickly.
  3. If your invested in Office 365 then I'd not be afraid of doing upgrades around Christmas to xx09 . Gradual upgrades are able to catch any issues. The summer break seems to be eroding particularly when security threats happen 365 days a year.
  4. Or just upgrade mid year around Christmas with 1809 etc.
  5. It's probably the rogue " in the command line.
  6. Its strange they seem to want to push into education. However the support isn't great and things such as Authenticating Proxy support Federated logins to AzureAD/G-Suite/ADFS seem to not be on the roadmap. A licence server for Unity Editor. I also had this issue last year. https://forum.unity.com/threads/unity-editor-will-not-open-present-as-a-background-task.486216/ It did get patched or may have an issue with Unity's CDN. I have submitted feedback at https://feedback.unity3d.com . If anyone wants to vote that would be appreciated. If Unity don't know the needs they may not build the features in.
  7. Domains: *.unity3d.com *.unity.com *.pubnub.com Powershell to return licence Powershell to activate The log file is located in %appdatalocal%\Unity\Editor. Or if the SYSTEM account activates its in c:\windows\system32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\Unity\Editor . How may PCs are you installing it on? I have 112 so I need to use a Task Sequence to ensure the licencing is handled correctly. It is a pain Unity cant handle authenticating proxies. Increasingly though software doesn't seem to support it as the presumption is that devices are 1:1 and therefore the user authenticates at the connection level such as with 802.1x Wi-Fi. Though we need to support learners and teachers in the tools they choose. It could be worse you may have been asked for Unreal Engine.
  8. You need to add a few domains to your authentication exceptions. Unity does not work with NTLM or Kerberos . I've also found I've needed to allow the domains to completely bypass a managed proxy and instead go out through an intercepting proxy particularly if using collaboration. You can use unity in batch mode to licence using the unity account. This can be included in a script when deploying. Most of the installers just need /S to run silent. You must return licences before you reimage the pc or do an upgrade to 1803 or1809. Enjoy. I can post a powershell script I did for Unity.
  9. I've just deployed Lynx 6 via SCCM replacing 5. Seems to have worked.
  10. Why are you still using IE. Microsoft treat it as legacy and many sites don't function correctly?
  11. Seems to be resolved now. Check out @Office365Status’s Tweet: https://twitter.com/Office365Status/status/1037040936520273920?s=09
  12. Also Azure/Office365 is having a lot of issues at the moment.
  13. Any body getting login issues? 503 errors etc? Within the last hour? Found this: https://twitter.com/Office365Status/status/1036949646248235008
  14. Don't know what I did there. The spending decision wasn't mine just looking at getting good value by using all the features.
  15. @abaxter2 what exactly did the Hybrid Join entail on clients, was it pretty much automatic? At the moment we're using a Centrify SaaS cloud-based ADFS-esque solution, which does SSO for everything apart from the Windows Store (which seems generally pretty shoddily implemented but we'd need to migrate to SCCM to be able to deploy the Modern Apps directly to clients). For the OneDrive client you need to make a couple of registry edits as per https://gshaw0.wordpress.com/2017/11/08/onedrive-files-on-demand-first-steps/[/quote @gshaw Well EMS does cost but a lot of software will be going down the per user licensing model. In education it's usually based on staff FTE. I think Microsoft 365 will be going down this route anyway to slowly push edu to.the cloud.
  16. Do you find signing into the OneDrive sync client are more reliable?
  17. I had the same thing with a Windows 7 era WinPE Image. I think I updated to Win 8 WinPE at the time as it has built in drivers. Failing that you can use DISM to add the drivers to WinPE. Or initiate MDT from windows.
  18. The Azure self service password reset can be accessed via the login screen on Windows 10 1803+. Co-Management with SCCM. You can apply intune policies.
  19. On a technical level the built in Group Policy for removable media are most useful when targeting at the computer. The larger question is why USB sticks ? The only reason is staff who may deal with large files and want to work at home when RDP etc isn't practical. It may be safer for them to use a laptop with Google Drive sync'd that is encrypted.
  20. Also make sure cache size is big enough.
  21. BTL SecureAssess Pearson POP Pearson Administrator Impero Final Cut Pro Just a few that require particular OS' But yes if it was all web based it would make life easier.
  22. Also arguably you can run a lot of server side apps using Linux. Not sure how well AD/DC/GP works with samba though. Exams software will only support Windows usually.
  23. Not really preparing students for the real world.
  24. I meant sync bookmarks with gsuite accounts. Phones and autocorrect.
  25. The best way would be to use software see gsuite accounts. But takes a lot of work.
