  1. Across our MAT? In the region of 600-700 I believe but need to check.
  2. Saw this linked on El-Reg https://msportals.io/?search= A List of all known Microsoft portals. Something like 179 and counting...

  3. I think that's a grave insult. To market traders from Peckham. Come on, they've got a reputation to uphold!
  4. Which is rather appropriate, because there was no plan with BSG and the writers were making it all up on the fly as they went along. The parallels are amazing...
  5. I've had an issue raised by one of my schools, where a kid has wanted to access Google Earth using Chrome. It had been working up until recently, but now they're getting a picture of a dinosaur and an error that says "ERR_BLOCKED_BY_ADMINISTRATOR". We are controlling Chrome via GPO, but we haven't changed our policy so I can only assume that a recent update to Chrome has done this. They can access it in Edge but we haven't set any GPOs to speak of on that. Looking at the Chrome GPO, there's nothing that obviously shouts "BLOCK GOOGLE EARTH SUCKA!". This is our GPO. Any suggestions?
  6. We do similar - staff are just A.User for their account names and A User for their display names. Students are .AUser for their user names and "STUDENT - A User" for their display names. This has the nice side effect of clumping all of the students together in the GAL.
  7. We got there in the end. We’ve experienced all kinds of different issues with these things but we haven’t experienced the issues you’re describing with the USB NICs though. We’re using a mixture of Lenovo, Startech and Linksys ones from what I’ve seen. I think they all use the same Realtek chipset. They’re all USB-A NICs, rather than USB-C The biggest issues that we’ve come across are: When booting from USB, the USB stick gets assigned storage device zero and gets wiped by the task sequence Sound drivers don’t get installed despite being in the driver repository SCCM client suddenly decided it wasn’t going to install during the TS, crashing out at the ‘installing and configuring Configuration Manager Client’ step, claiming there wasn’t enough room on the device despite having 20gb+ free. We managed to work around all of those. I’m willing to post my TS if you want to see it.
  8. https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2021/feb/02/apple-iphone-update-solves-problem-of-unlocking-faceid-in-a-mask That's an interesting idea.
  9. Do these help block out the noise of a tired, bored and grumpy four year old who refuses to get on with his schoolwork? Asking for a friend.

  11. You can turn the dubbing off in Netflix and put the subtitles on. I usually do that.
  12. Demoting the DC while SQL server is running on it will break SQL. You’re better off buiding another SQL server first, migrating the databases then demoting the DC, IMO. You can then rebuild it and promote it again, if you want.
  13. Baha [indeed. The highlight of my day so far has been a trip to Waitrose]
  14. Interesting, sure, but why is everything aimed at gamers have this stupid RGB aesthetic?
  15. This is probably a good place to start: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powershell/module/configurationmanager/get-cmsiterole?view=sccm-ps
