  1. Sorry but this is making a mountain out a molehill. Sure, it’s slower but it’s hardly slow. It still can transfer data at more than a gigabyte per second. I’d be amazed that if anyone, especially the sort of person that this is actually aimed at, could tell the difference in general use. The reason it’s slower is down to Apple changing the size of the flash modules in the new MacBooks. They’re now using a 256gb chip in a single channel instead of a pair of 128 modules in two channels. This is probably because 128gb modules are getting harder to get in sufficient volume and to keep their BOM cost down.
  2. They've got Prodigy as well, if you're interested in that.

  4. That must be incredibly annoying to type on if you're a touch typist. Are the keys as oversized as they look?
  5. It might be worth contacting the manufacturer. HP took a load of redundant networking kit of my hands and paid us for the privilege.
  6. Microsoft 365 A3 subscriptions, yes. Not a plain Office 365 A3 subscription.
  7. Sounds a bit like the Helicarrier from the Avengers. That didn't end well as I recall.
  8. Raspberry and White Chocolate is one of my favourites. How the hell is this site 17 years old? How did that happen?
  9. That made me genuinely laugh out loud. Am I a bad person?
  10. https://blogs.windows.com/windows-insider/2022/06/22/announcing-windows-11-insider-preview-build-25145/ Azure AD Support is coming later. This is good news™

  11. The main difference is that Office 365 is going to get new features, whereas Office 2021 is a snapshot of a fairly recent Office 365 build and will not have any additions to it, only bug fixes. Office 365 will track better with new features that Microsoft release in the cloud but Microsoft can and will change the UI of the Windows apps which may upset users. Office 2021 will remain stable in terms of interface but as time goes on, may fall behind when it comes to integration with the online services. Both are patched with the same update mechanism so management is no easier with one over the other.
  12. Are you looking for a box shifter or do you want someone who can provide an end to end service? Stone are worth looking at European Electronique IDNS Circle IT
  13. Anyone watching the new series of the Orville? I don’t know, it’s alright but there’s something about it that’s a bit, well, off really. I can’t quite put my finger on it.
  14. James Nesbitt playing a detective? Talk about going against type...
  15. Both work for me on the current builds of Windows 11 and 10 21H2.
  16. Make that part of the spec then, the physical size of the case.
  17. Failing that, pushing out an AppX bundle with SCCM isn't that onerous. You will need to download the offline bundle from the Windows Store for Business then create an application from an APPX, rather than from an MSI or a Script installer.
  18. PluralSight is good, but don’t let them use that as a reason to forego actual training. Sometimes there is no substitute for getting time with an instructor and being able to ask questions or use labs.
  19. Quick Assist has other advantages too. The SCCM remote tool is pretty good but it assumes that you’re on the same network as the person you’re trying to support. Quick Assist works over the internet and over firewalls which is useful if you’re trying to support a worker who isn’t in the same site as you
