  1. I think it depends on various factors, but Intune and Autopilot is definitely something you should be considering. Intune in itself isn't all that brilliant in a lot of ways (Reporting for instance is rubbish) but combined with features of Azure AD Premium like Conditional Access and whatever they're calling Defender ATP these days, it suddenly becomes a lot more interesting If your workplace has a lot of remote workers then Intune and Autopilot make a lot of sense as all the infrastructure you need is in the cloud and you don't need to do anything to set it up. With Autopilot, you can get the OEM to pre-provision the device as an Autopilot laptop, ship it off to the user with instructions to sign into it with their Office 365 account and they'll get their computer set up automatically. However, if all of your workers are based on-site, and/or you don't have much internet bandwidth then something with local infrastructure might be more logical, even if it's just WDS pushing out a fat image.
  2. You like Enterprise? Ewwww In all seriousness, militant trekkers/trekkies, or militant fanboys of any franchise for that matter, can do one. If they don't like $NewShow, they don't have to watch it. It doesn't mean that someone who does like $NewShow is wrong. Brings to mind this: (For the record, I actually quite like Enterprise, or some of it at least. It started quite well (apart from the gratuitous gel chamber scenes), got weaker during the second season, had an awful third and then once Manny Coto took over for the fourth season it actually started getting quite good. And "These are the voyages..." didn't happen)
  3. Attempt to disable the blikenlighten then go mad and play some games that I've not had the chance to since I stopped playing games heavily. With 12 cores, 20 threads, 64GB RAM and 4TB storage, I'd also get a VMware Workstation license and do some serious lab virtualisation!
  4. Like a Kensington lock, or something with a Mount which you glue to the monitor?
  5. This Is Going to Hurt is an interesting one, considering its source material. You could clearly see the bits which were directly inspired by the diary and the way they've been woven around the storylines is clever. What's interesting for me is that they've kept Adam Kay's name as the main character, yet made him quite arrogant, cocky and at times thoroughly unpleasant. He didn't come across like this in the diaries, but then I suppose he wouldn't.
  6. I enjoyed it, but it's a little frustrating that we're clearly not going to see that much more of that world, in this season at least. It looks like we're into some alternative timeline with the fascist-looking Picard in that painting. Q was also very uncanny valley until he aged himself there as well. Very Tron 2.0.
  7. At this point I'd say it's probably pining for the fjords, but if there's no data on there, it might be worth putting it into DFU mode and doing a factory reset. I think that's probably about the only troubleshooting step you can take outside of taking it to an repair facility.
  8. My mix is usually something along the lines of 75g flour, 150ml milk and 1 egg. If I'm feeling posh, a bit of melted butter. Multiply that up as needed. Make sure the pan is smoking hot before you start making the pancakes otherwise they'll stick. I always prefer to use butter or ghee than oil as well; seems to work better.
  9. This raised a smile https://omghotmemes.tumblr.com/post/677863013117820928/keep-on-trolling-in-the-free-world NSFW language
  10. It’s going through my son’s school like a dose of salts right now. In a school of ~30 kids, at least 12 confirmed cases in the last couple of weeks.
  11. I once saw a packet of ‘pancake mix’ in a supermarket that said ‘Just add eggs and milk’ on the side of it. I said out loud ‘Flour. You’re selling flour’. At least bread mix has yeast in it usually, that was just ridiculous
  12. So that retaken test came back negative, but I’ve been giving myself daily LFTs since I need to to avoid self isolation up here. Today I’m feeling somewhat under the weather and the test came back positive. In the words of the immortal James May: Oh, cock

    SCCM Help

A quick Google suggests that the DP that you distributed the software to is not in the same boundary group as your clients. You need to check those over.
  14. Shards of Earth by Adrian Tchaikovsky. Good bit of sci-fi space opera. Not too "hard" but not fluff either. I'm about half way through it, enjoying it so far.
  15. Had PCR tests yesterday. GF tested positive, my test came back inconclusive. Retaking it at lunchtime
  16. Am I missing something? You could swap all the drives out for 4TB drives, sure, but surely you'd still have a volume on the array for 4/6/8TB, depending on RAID level? If you wanted a 8/12/16TB volume, you'd have to recreate the volume to use all of its space. Unless you're using something like ZFS or Storage Spaces?
  17. Race..
  18. So, after two years of being careful, somehow managing to avoid it thus far and a month before the legal restrictions get lifted in Scotland, my son takes a LFT this evening and it comes up positive. Both my partner and I are showing as negative but we’re taking PCR tests tomorrow to be on the safe side. Sprog has a bit of a temperature and a sore head, but otherwise he seems ok. He’s upset that he’s missing some school activities that he was forward to more than anything I think. God damn it.
  19. If you think that's going to happen, I have a bridge that I can sell you.
  20. Tayto. (Interesting to note that I'd never heard of the company before I went to Ireland, but they own quite a few different brands of crisp over here)
  21. Should have kept my mouth shut. It was so wet and windy last night, I didn't get to sleep until about 2am. I'm pretty tired this morning.
  22. Florida
  23. This area was really battered by Arwen, power outages, fallen trees, the works. This time around, it’s perhaps been a bit breezier than usual but otherwise it’s fine. Actually has been quite nice and sunny today.
  24. Q I'm glad I got to see that show.
