My recommendation is "Don't" and "Use LAPS to manage the password for the existing account". Rename the existing Admin account with a GPO if you want to. Failing that, create a new account using a GPP and, again, use LAPS to manage the password for that account.

‘SmartBoard’ is a brand. They sell interactive whiteboards and interactive displays, and they sell software called Smart Notebook which drives their products. An interactive whiteboard is a device on which you project an image from an LCD projector onto, you can use pens to write on the whiteboard and what you draw/write is put into the software and can be saved. An interactive display is a more modern take on this, it’s effectively a giant tablet display connected to your computer via HDMI and USB. Again, you write on the display and software saves what you do. Whiteboards and projectors are generally somewhat cheaper per inch, and you can get bigger whiteboards than you can displays. However, interactive displays are considerably simpler to set up, maintain, are better in bright light, you don’t have to contend with shadows and/or bright lights shining in your face, you don’t need to replace lamps and they don’t need calibrating. Displays are the better choice in the classroom if you can afford them. There are several different brands you can get; the aforementioned Smart, Promethean, Hitachi, Cleverboard and more besides.

Is it a 30 pin connector from an old iDevice? 2nd gen iPod or similar?

The Crow did it too I think, although not to the same extent. That was a lot earlier than Gladiator

Star Wars already has…

It's not finished yet! I've really enjoyed this series so far, the TNG crew are getting the send off they deserve. It's quite funny watching Marina Sirtis though, she doesn't quite seem to be getting back into the swing of her "Deanna" accent and her London is getting through a lot more than it did

Probably not, when you consider its intended audience. How old is your brother? It's not going to win any Oscars but it's a fun enough film. The fact that Rotten Tomatoes gives it an audience score of 96% right now is telling.

Went to see the new Super Mario Brothers film with my son. I mean, it wasn’t brilliant but it wasn’t as awful as it could have been either. There were a few laugh out loud moments for me, it referenced the source material fairly well and I liked that Peach wasn’t just a damsel in distress who needed rescuing, like she is in the games. It kept me and more importantly my six year old entertained for 92 minutes and that was the main thing.

Much the same, I suspect. From what I've seen, the hardware is OK for the price but the support isn't all that.

BETT 2023 GIVEAWAY - What is your earliest gaming memory?
Norphy replied to VeryPC's topic in Our Advertisers
Huh. I remember playing that at school on the Archimedes 3000s and 5000s there, but I didn't realise it was a David Braben game! -

This seems like a good a time as any other to put this video here -
Dang I remember getting lifts to work with a colleague of mine many years ago, before I could drive, and for a period he had a Lily Savage tape on repeat in his car. We always used to crack up laughing on the way to or from what was invariably a miserable day at work. He will he missed.

Timmy, do you like movies about gladiators? -
I agree - Enterprise drives are mechanically similar or sometimes even almost identical, but they are generally rated for higher uptimes and life cycles, and will come with a longer warranty. Enterprise drives may also be more suitable for RAID arrays as large arrays of disks are subject to different stresses than desktop drives, more vibrations and suchlike, so that’s something to take into account as well

Luck on Apple TV+ A girl tries to turn her luck around after meeting a black cat and finding a mysterious penny. Considering the team and the cast I was expecting more, to be honest. It was by no means bad and it kept my son entertained for its runtime but it also was just run of the mill. The animation was OK, very Pixar-ish and Simon Pegg was reliably Simon Pegg but the film just seemed derivative. Inside-Out had a similar aesthetic and is a lot better.

Documenting your network - What's best to use?
Norphy replied to maxrebo's topic in How do you do....it?
If you use Office 365, there are worse places to look than OneNote. It’s not the best in the world, admittedly, but as part of the overall Microsoft 365 experience, integrating into Teams etc, it can be a pretty powerful platform. There are apps for most of the major platforms, it can be used in a browser, multiple people can edit a document at once, it’s a bit more freeform than a word document and it is all hosted at Microsoft so there’s no dependency on local infrastructure. If you don’t have Office 365, I wouldn’t get it just for this but if you do, I’d take a close look at it. My old team in the MAT I used to work for used it (I assume they still do but I hear everyone has jumped ship since I left so who knows?) for network documentation while I was there and it worked well for us. -
I'd suggest taking them to your nearest skeet range and let people use them for target practice...

Apparently you could hold down the F key to go fast and escape the snowman... Of course, this knowledge is entirely fracking useless 25 years after the event -
BETT 2023 GIVEAWAY - What is your earliest gaming memory?
Norphy replied to VeryPC's topic in Our Advertisers
My earliest memory is a very, very vague recollection of playing a Mr Men game on an Acorn Electron which my dad got out of the cupboard every once in a blue moon. After that, I have much clearer memories of playing Alley Cat on an Amstrad PC1512 and other games off PC Plus super disks. The first game that I played on a computer that I, personally actually owned, I.e. bought with my own money, was Carmageddon. -
It took me about three episodes to really get into it, but it's worth it. Bit like Breaking Bad in that way I think. That was slow to get going as well, but once it got going, it really got going.

This is pretty cool: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-64939558 I've sent an email to a local swimming pool that recently closed thanks to raising heating costs with that link in. I wouldn't blame them if they ignored it but it could be helpful if they want to get it open again! -
If you can afford it, get it. It's an excellent piece of software which has save me a lot of time and heartache over the years. The helpdesk part of it, however, is a lot more basic. It'd do as a ticket response system but if you need something more ITIL orientated you'll need to find something more advanced.

Has to be a Scotch pie from a good butcher. The ones you get in the supermarket are terrible.
