  1. Why would HP's website carry a service pack for a Dell server? I don't understand. Unless you're talking about Windows service packs, but those haven't been a thing since Windows Server 2008 R2. As long as you've got the latest hotfix installed, you're up to date. On Dell's website, there is a very handy utility called the Software Update Utility (SUU), which is a large ISO which contains driver, firmware and application updates for Dell servers. That will autodetect driver, firmware, iDRAC and BIOS versions of the hardware it's being run on and update them to the latest version that's on the disc. If the server has OpenManage installed, it should also update that iirc.
  2. Yeah, actually, I can see that. The whole multiverse thing that the MCU has going could have been an influence as well.
  3. Sweet. It looks like a cross between Quantum Leap and B5. They should have cast Scott Bakula in there somehow
  4. SNW S2 is now on Paramount+ Yay!
  5. Looks like it's official https://www.vodafone.com/news/corporate-and-financial/merger-vodafone-uk-three-uk-europe-leading-5g-networks Yay?
  6. Even up here in southern Scotland, it's supposed to be reaching 31 C today. Thunderstorms will be coming before too much longer, I'm sure.
  7. The car has 16" rims on 205/55 tyres. A pretty far cry from the 225/45/R17s my last car had Anyway, the sticker on the fuel flap says 2.2bar/32psi so I assume that the manufacturer knows best!
  8. The closest petrol station I have is eight miles away, I drove straight there from cold. I don't have a tyre pressure gauge, I should probably get one. That said, even after a long drive I've never seen my tyres at 40psi before!
  9. Probably a stupid question I bought a new car last week after my accident. This new car has a TPMS and it triggered on one of the tyres today. Annoying, but ok, these things happen. I went to the petrol station, went to the air pump, looked in the fuel cap and it said that they recommended 2.2bar for an unladen car with wheels the size that it has. The tyre that the system reported was at 1.8 bar so I inflated it. I’ll keep an eye over the next couple of weeks and take it to get repaired/replaced if necessary. I checked the others and they’d all been inflated to 2.7bar, or nearly 40psi. That seems way to high to me. Why would the garage have inflated them that high? Am I missing something? I put them down to 2.2, in any case.
  10. Public transport out of large towns and cities is a no-go for most people I think. The nearest bus stop to me is an hours walk, and even then the buses come hourly at best.
  11. No, I don't think you are. This is my vague recollection of events: Orange originally owned by Hutchison. Bought by France Telecom T-Mobile, owned by Deustche Telekom Orange and T-Mob merged into EE, owned 50/50ish by the French and Germans EE bought by BT O2 originally set up as Cellnet by BT. They demerged from BT and rebranded to O2 O2 got bought by Telefonica in Spain They merged with Virgin Media/Liberty Global and became Virgin Media O2, owned 50/50 by the two parent companies. This was after at least one failed merger attempt with Three I think. Hutchison got sellers regret, maybe, about selling Orange and set up Three when 3G networks were introduced here. I don't think Vodafone has ever changed hands. Now they're (maybe?) merging their operations with Three in this country.
  12. https://www.reuters.com/markets/deals/vodafone-hutchison-announce-uk-merger-soon-friday-sources-2023-06-07/ Only rumours at the moment, but a reasonably good source it would seem. That would leave just three mobile infrastructure companies in the UK: EE/BT Virgin Media O2/Liberty/Telefonica Vodafone/Three/Hutchison I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not.
  13. I tried to get a picture with my DSLR and long lens, but they were gone by the time I got back out. However, there are hundreds of swallows flying about the place at the moment, it’s wonderful to see The downside is, the buggers crap all over your car.

    WiFi

It's dependant on so, so many things and being on wifi makes it dependant on so many more. The only truly reliable way to test your internet speed is to plug a device into it with a wire when there's nothing else on your network.
  15. I hate those - I don't know why, I find them weird
  16. My son and nephew found these in the stream behind our house:
  17. Your Honor on P+ Bryan Cranston seems to have a thing for characters who dig themselves into ever deeper holes, but it’s pretty good.
  18. I’ve been watching Ted Lasso. I don’t give a monkey’s toot about football but this I’m enjoying
  19. My Mk3 Golf did that. Moving to a Mk4, it just had four set intermittent speeds. It was the only thing I missed going from the mk3 to the mk4
  20. I think I'm missing something here. What did you see? Almost sounds like Star Trek Beyond
  21. PRTG is a good one, decent value too
  22. My work laptop, in the six months I've had it: A USB-attached SSD I used for VHD storage, about five or six years old:
  23. Windows LAPS was integrated into the April patch for Windows 10 21H1 and above, so I would imagine that LTSC 21H2 will get it as well. I don't think they'd backport it for 1809 as that's out of support for the CBB and has only got a year left of mainstream support for the LTSC. See here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/release-health/release-information LTSB is well out of mainstream support now, so it's only getting security patches and not new features. I'd get those workstations updated if I were you.
  24. So is this: the new version you're talking about or is there a new, new version?
