Yeah but these are kids... There has to be a more eloquent solution. At worst I can add them to a group with a policy filtered to it and they can access the required settings, but this will carry through onto all stations

Hi there, Just wondering if anyone has every achieved a different set of user policies for specific stations on a CC4 network? Basically I am trying to create a number of offline student laptops where they users have their normal permissions on college stations, but on a group of stations they have access to the control panel and abilities to joint home wireless networks. Loop back processing is not an option as in Cc4 land all stations sit in the same OU and GPOs are linked at the OU above so encompass users and stations alike... I've tried security filtering on stations and users as well as WMI with no success thanks Stephen

No it should just go through and detect 2010R3 - I did run Live Update and update 2010R3 completely before I upgraded however & updated the agents on the servers to be backed-up. Then installed msxml6_x64.msi (Download Microsoft Core XML Services (MSXML) 6.0 from Official Microsoft Download Center) Then run the pre-installation checks Then Stop the existing services in 2010R3 Then ran through the install (importing licenses from the license file) - if you check on the left hand side you should have a 'Migration Progress' step - I'm assuming this would not be there on a fresh install? I have my documentation but it is environment specific....

It's installed now, but the deployment shows as failed... Not entirely sure how to get this to show as succeeded. Anyone have an idea?

Bit of an update on this - the package (.msi) now sits on the client but doesn't do anything....

Hi There, I have a SCCM 2012 R2 question. Basically, I think everything is setup fine, client install the Config Manager & SCEP 2010 application, however when I try to push an application out the deployment sits 'In Progress' 'Waiting for Content' The client machine which is a member of the collection I am pushing the MSI out to seems to know it needs to install the simple MSI application but never gets anywhere: DCMAgent.log: {F1EA6E6D-FB4D-4AF0-B64C-7636A8D3CF17} ' ]LOG]!> Any ideas? Yeah went on quite smoothly - the only issue I had is that the backups seems to use more space on disk than 2010 so I have had to rejig the retention settings. Thank for getting back to me though - appreciate it

Hi there, I'm having an issue whereby if we set a theme for our users, the first time a user logs in, they get a prompt that stalls the login until they either confirm the deletion of the theme file or not. Once click the theme applies and the users continues to their desktop... Has anyone seen this before? It's a bit of a PITA especially on cyber cafe stations when we use them as they all are set to auto login but can't as they all sit with this prompt until we go around and click on 90+ prompts Thanks Stephen

We had all sorts of issues with Java in IE11 and its down to the mode the site you are accessing is in in IE. Add the site via GPO to trusted sites and check protected mode is off as this can stop Java from running and then adjust your Java security in GPO accordingly and potentially active x control settings

I'm looking at updating our Backup Exec 2010 install to 2014 this week, has anyone done this, if so, what are you experiences? Looks pretty simple to do and should auto update the agents...

We have all manner of issues with protected mode in IE11 and it's becoming a complete pain. As a side note, we have serious issues on 700 stations on Win8.1 fully patched and updated with 'Appcrashes' and stations slowing down to a crawl...

I set this on our teacher stations via a GPO to run a script on login that simply runs 'displayswitch.exe /clone', you do have to give the full path to the display switch executable for it to work. I copy this to a location in "c:\program files" so that users have permissions to run it as my applocker/security restrictions allow .exes to run from there.

Sorted it - the default domain controller policy was imposing Local login rights so the GPO applied to my Web Server OU wasn't adding the correct user group. In theory the teaching staff shouldn't of been able to run HAP, but they could. Strange but sorted. Cheers for pointing me in the right direction - appreciate it Stephen

Ahh ok. I might take a look at the iis user account as UAC might be throwing a spanner in the works

Hi There, Has anyone come across an issue where you launch a remote application through a Remote Desktop Services Farm and you get a 'This theme can't be applied to the desktop.'?
