Issue is its local and server. Adding the server to trust sites doesn't work as it would need to be file:\\ and you would need to specify the location for each share - these are students and therefore to deploy via GPO we would need to add every students area in as wildcards don't seem to be accepted, nor does simple paths to the local files we've copied for testing. Flash is becoming obsolete but the students have completed their coursework in it and imported into Dreamweaver...

Hi Thom We are actually trying to preview from a link in Dreamweaver, but even just opening the file it doesn't like displaying the flash content at all. Not able to change the switch to http:// as the files are local or on network drives using http:// will force a look out onto the net - unless I'm missing something? Thanks Stephen

Hi All Seeing an issue where when students/Staff/Admins/Local Admins attempt to run any HTML files with flash content in them from locally stored locations - flash refuses to work on our Windows 10 1709 clients. Flash content on the web is fine, its just local files. I've checked "Allow content to run in files on My Computer" is enabled, I've enabled all of the Active X controls in GPO & added the locations to my trusted sites list - still no joy. Very curious as it happens for the local admin account, Domain Admin accounts, staff & students. Tried my hand at google fu but nothing really much out there (Tried added "EnableInsecureLocalWithFileSystem=1" to mms.cfg in x645 & x86 locations as per Local flash can't load in browsers) - any help would be greatfully appreciated. Thanks all Stephen

Try running through this: https://4sysops.com/archives/unifying-sccm-and-wsus/ Worked for me on SCCM 2016, running on Server 2016 updating Server 2016. Word of warning Windows Defender for SCEP updates not EP Thanks Stephen
-
You don't setup WSUS you just do it in SCCm and use ADRs - once I get back to my office I'll send some links on how to do it

Pearson onscreen platform installation woes
StephenHardy replied to IT_Man_Dan's topic in Educational Software
worth noting - we had an issue in Excel with the Page layout options disappearing due to no printer being assigned or installed on the station in use. Caused a couple of questions to be unanswerable - adding a printer, even a fake one cleared that one up -
It was because for the unknown computer deployment I had it set to 'media and PXE' but for my test collection I'd made a boo boo and set it to 'media and PXE (hidden)'. Set it correctly and of it goes!!! Cheers all - now off to customise the build client, import thousands of drivers and generally save a few £1000 in the years to come... if I'm still here now that we're in special measures post OFSTED last week [emoji106]

Yeah seems to work absolutely fine with a new VM Happy days on that front. I've advertised it to a new collection called 'TEST' and PXE booted the only member of that collection - still no dice...
-
Totally, but how do you rebuild a computer that is already known?
-
Hi there Thanks for the reply, this is Hyper-V VM :s I'll try a completely blank one though. My thought was that it's not an unknown one, but I don't seem to be able to assign the task sequence to known computers, or rather a large enough group to encompass the 700 or so we have. Thanks Stephen

Hi There, I'm trying to stage a migration away from an RM CC4 setup, so far I've been running SCCM for a number of years to push out applications such as SCEP/Office/Java/Adobe Reader etc to our vanilla station, this all works just fine. I've come to the stage where I would like to start testing 'building' workstations using SCCM (Installing the OS/applications & joining domain in correct OU), but for the testing stage I will need to use the existing WDS server for PXE booting. To this end I've managed to get a boot.wim working and created a task sequence that should work (I've deployed this to unknown computers) but when any test client PXE boots it starts loading the PE environment, then just restarts. The SMSLog shows that no task sequences are available... My question then is, what am I doing wrong? Are there any walk throughs for this setup? I've seen a stack to use the SCCM DP/MP as the PXE boot server, but at the moment I cant do that and in any case I dont think that is the issue here. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I think I'm missing something really simple
