Trying to be as organic as I can with my garden. Made relative peace with the ants, so the Nippon powder has been banished. Also trying to use natural fertilisers like crushed egg shells for my Tommy's and Peppers, which also help to keep Mr Slug and Mr Snail away. For the lawn, which has a severe weed infestation, I've heard that spraying Bolsanic vinegar on the leaves makes them wither up and die. I'd love to use a tool that digs them out completely, but the lawn would look ridiculous. I have used a 4 in 1 lawn feed/weed killer a few times to help start the process, but I don't like using it.

Why should the price of producing an item correlate to the selling price? I've not bought a new release for a long time, but I've seen some new CDs for about £7-8. That's just a bit more than the national minimum wage for an hour. (Pre tax of course). I have had 100s of hours of enjoyment listening to each of my CDs, therefore per listen, it works out to be pennies, and get's less as time goes on. Is that not good value for money? Likewise games. Just got back into playing CoD Modern Warfare 2 online, and noticed that I'd worryingly played it for over 3 full days and counting. I bought the game for £22. Again, more than worth it. Never paid anywhere near £20 for a DVD, even when new. Piracy doesn't happen because of the price of media. It happens because it's so damn easy to do.

Sounds like you have more than 1 nest. If your neighbours also have nests then I wouldn't spend lots of money digging your garden up as they'll just return.

You should see them under my greenhouse! Little oiks. I do admire their efficiency and intelligence. Last year I killed off a lot using a jam jar half filled with a mix of water and Marmalade. They drowned by the hundreds. This year not one has drowned. I also used some of the Nippon powder, ant traps and artificial sweetener last year. Non have worked so far. In truth, they didn't even attack my crops, so I was being an evil sod for no reason. Therefore I have decided to make peace with them, and focus my energy on getting Snails drunk instead.

Got to agree with you there. How on earth was this fool (No, not the one being questioned) allowed to just wander in? The damn thing was being televised all over the world, yet some plonker with a bright shirt and a plate with shaving foam managed to just walk up to the Murdochs. If there is one that the "we" are world leaders at, it is making a fool of ourselves on the world stage.

God help us if whoever came up with this idea got into power.
