  1. Yep, 10/100. Shame it isn't 10/100/1000, but then it is only £40 and I bought it for the wireless functionality. Quick overview for those interested: W-LAN: 802.11 b/g/n Encryption: WEP 64/128, WPA-PSK / WPA2-PSK, WPS Connectivity: 4x USB 2.0 ( 1xfront, 3x rear ) 1 x RJ45 10/100 Mbit/s, 1 stereo audio output (3.5mm jack) Ooh, it has a stand too
  2. It is :-) You can share upto 4 USB devices from it. Just what I've been looking for.
  3. Just bought the Medion Wireless USB hub from there this morning. (£40) Very impressed with it so far. Never had any issues with Medion products.
  4. Sorry, i should have mentioned that it's the LEA that use it. On an individual school basis the costs could be prohibitive. As for Bitlocker to go. The "Read-Only on any OS other than Windows 7" side of things may be an issue for most.
  5. We use Safend Protector. As an encrpyted USB solution, I think it will tick your boxes. Does tons more too. Safend Endpoint Security : Safend Protector
  6. Don't we all turn Autorun off by default in GP these days though?
  7. Ooops, I didn't spot that. Most grateful either way. A few tasty looking ones on there that I shall be investigating. Cheers.
  8. Luke_T, are you looking for a new job by any chance?
  9. SIMS running from a Crash Pilot anyone?
  10. I may have been a tad liberal with my spec.
  11. A Celeron M 1.5Ghz and a 1GB of RAM is more than enough for 99% of computer users. Facebook and Twitter do not require fast processors. Perhaps I'm just being cynical.
  12. Just short of 93 million relying on Fox news. Edit: Whoopsies, that's foX interactive Media, not news.
  13. May I recommend Loch Fyne Whiskies
  14. Here's me hoping you had a huge guy in a Police Academy uniform.
  15. Owning a car makes getting around far easier, aids social improvement and increases job opportunities. Should owning a car be a fundamental human right?
  16. One question though, is your new car £3,500 cheaper than it was before the scrappage scheme? A lot of manure-facturers have raised their prices since the scrappage scheme came in.
  17. The manufacturer can decide how much they wish to offer, with a minimum of £1k.
  18. Just before said pupil is due to hand in some important work, why not rename all of the files in their home folder, in a similar manner?
  19. Which is fair enough, until you take into consideration that most salesman are smartly dressed and clean shaven, and look at what reputation they have. And what about Bankers?
  20. What has your appearance got to do with a Comptia certification?
  21. About time Absolute Radio was given room on the FM band. I cannot stand the presenters or the music for that matter, being played on Radio 1. Not listened to 6 Music before, so I'd better hurry up and give it a try, if not for anything other than Adam & Joe. (Reminisces about the old Adam 7 Joe show on Ch4)
  22. If you're Sophos subscribers, you can ask Sophos for the link to a bootable disc. As soon as anything like this crops up, I just boot the machine this and run the scan from there. (Had the exact same issue last week) Avira also do one for free. We just download the latest version each work and burn it to a CD/RW. Great addition to the arsenal.
  23. Sounds like a Malware/Virus writers wet dream. We've all had to disinfect laptops, where someone has fallen for the "Convincing" looking fake Anti-Virus software haven't we? How long until they do the same for this? In it's crudest form, all you'd need to do is take a screen grab of it, and create a hyperlink on each option to pull down a piece of nasty code, rather than the intended browser.
  24. Reminds me of a scene in National Lampoons European Vacation.
