Just a reminder that if you have any questions for Luke Craig (presenting for Google) about his presentation, you can either post them here or live in the chatbox on YouTube during the presentation and we'll get through them all at the end of his talk. Another trip to Cumbria to give the car a run out and stopped by Maybugh Henge. The banks are up to 4.6m high and made from cobbles taken from the nearby river Kennet and must have taken an age to construct as it's a very large henge indeed. If you didn't know, they suspect paces like this were to provide a barrier between the human space and the 'outside'. There were, originally, 4 standing stones inside, and the entrance faces the equinoctial sunrise. Then it was to King Arthurs Round table, a few mins walk away. Like Mayburgh, it was used as a meeting and ceremonial place. Finished off with ice cream at Lowther castle.

While many see AI as a simple chatbot, for the "EduGeek," it is a sophisticated engine for automation and system integration. This session moves past basic prompts and dives into the technical architecture of Google Gemini, focusing on how to transform it into a specialised tool for educational IT and administration. We will explore how to leverage Gemini’s deep reasoning and coding capabilities to solve "impossible" tasks in minutes. This technical walkthrough will cover: Bespoke Apps Script & Automation: Learn how to use Gemini to write, debug, and deploy Google Apps Script code that bridges the gap between Workspace apps—automating everything from complex sheet reporting to custom Gmail workflows. Gemini Workspace Studio: A look at integrating AI directly into your production environment to streamline document processing and data synthesis. Building Custom Gems: How to architect specialised "Gems" (custom versions of Gemini) with specific system instructions and knowledge bases to act as 24/7 technical assistants or curriculum specialists. Deep Research & Multimodal Analysis: Using Gemini’s massive context window to perform "needle-in-a-haystack" searches across entire technical libraries, long-form video logs, or massive datasets without losing nuance. We will focus on the logic, the code, and the "geeky" workflows that allow you to automate the mundane and focus on the innovative. WATCH TUESDAY 2nd June @ 2PM CLICK HERE TO REGISTER If you have any questions you'd like to ask Google Education and may not be able to post live, then please feel free to post them below and we'll ask them for you at the end of the talk. In this session, We Trade Tech will explain how we make IT and electrical recycling easier, greener and more convenient. We already support over 2,000 customers nationwide, including schools, colleges, IT providers and businesses, with a free recycling service designed to remove the hassle from managing redundant equipment. We’ll also demonstrate how our free IT recycling cages help keep unwanted equipment safely stored on-site, including items that require careful handling such as batteries, toners and cabling. We’ll explain how this supports WEEE and health & safety compliance, while also providing free collections for larger, bulkier items such as smart boards, TVs and MFPs — helping organisations free up valuable storage space. Attendees will be given a behind-the-scenes look at what happens to e-waste after collection — from secure data handling and equipment assessment through to refurbishment, reuse, recycling and ethical disposal through approved channels. We’ll also introduce our multi-site management portal, where customers can book and track collections, manage multiple locations and delegates, and access digital compliance documentation after each collection. We Trade Tech helps organisations take a smarter, greener approach to IT recycling — making it easier to clear space, stay compliant and recycle responsibly. UK schools face a unique challenge: MFA mandates from CyberEssentials and NCSC amidst mobile bans and younger learners who struggle to type their password. But securing student identities doesn't have to mean choosing between safety and learning. You'll get clarity on what IASME, the NCSC, and the DfE 2030 standards mean for your classrooms — and a real-world picture of deviceless student MFA in action, across Google, Microsoft, and every age group. Join this session to learn how one school implemented deviceless MFA for students and how you can chart a realistic path to secure authentication. Paging @robk

Didn't some mobile providers offer these to customers in areas with weak signals (quite some time ago), or am I thinking of something else?
-
Just a quick message to ask that you please calm it down everyone. By all means post about any issues you are having, but we ask that you be careful how you phrase things. In the balance of fairness, there have been many sponsors on EduGeek who have suffered various service issues over the years, and we all know how frustrating they can be, especially at critical times

Lamp vs Laser Projectors any advice
Dos_Box replied to chrisbagnall's topic in AV and Multimedia Related
Just a quick question(s) for you all, are you now actively replacing lamp projectors when the lamp goes, working through a stockpile of spare lamps you might have, or looking to replace worn lamps the dwindling supply on the market? -
That really is a 'There is no money to replace this laptop' repair! ETA: You get points for that BTW.
